John Frost

Theatre producer extraordinaire

John Frost is Australia's most successful producer of plays and musicals. His career is a high-stakes risky adventure but Frost makes it work - he knows what the punters want and how to keep them coming, with top-quality entertainment.

Calendar Girls, Fame the Musical, Chicago, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Hairspray, An Inspector Calls, The King and I, and The Phantom of the Opera have been huge hits, making Frost a key theatre mover-and-shaker at home in Australia along with under the bright lights of New York's Broadway and London's West End.

Several performances of Wicked in Brisbane had to be cancelled due to the recent floods, a situation which caused the seasoned producer much stress, but also a great deal of pride at how the locals pulled together. "It is heartening to see Brisbane literally lifting itself out of the mud with strength and compassion and getting back on its feet," he told AussieTheatre.com.

Following Wicked's stint in Brissie, Frost's next project is co-producing the Australian Premiere of the new musical Doctor Zhivago starring Anthony Warlow, and the World Premiere of Officer and a Gentleman the Musical.
