Jonny Seymour aka Seymour Butz

Maker of manthems and soundtracker of sauna sessions

Comb your chest and bravely enter a busy bears' lair in Sydney. Be dazzled by the laser lights. Hear some funky beats... and know that DJ Seymour Butz can't be far away.

Beginning in Tasmania in the 1980’s, Seymour has developed his own unique style and forged his own path in the DJ / electronic universe, and has been a Sydney gay dance party stalwart for over 15 years' now.

His Club Kooky venue is the one of the only clubs in Australia dedicated to live queer music and performance art. Many artists have had their start from playing their first gigs there, including The Presets, Wolfmother and Blush Foundation. As a producer he has been commissioned by Kylie and queer artists George Michael and Sia for remixes, as well as breaking independent acts MEN (JD Samson) and We Have Band.

Ever an in-demand disc-spinner on the international circuit, Seymour has recently returned from touring overseas playing in Europe and the USA. With a style is best described as "bottom 40, machotech bath house, saunabeat, horizontal dance music," he can frequently be found playing his 'Sauna Sessions' at Sydney's Ken's of Kensington and the infamous Trough Faggot Party in Melbourne.
