Mardi Gras Parade 2014 – Allthe floats you'll see

Here’s your complete guide to who’ll shimmer down Oxford Street this Saturday in 2014’s massive Sydney Mardi Gras Parade!

This year there’s a whopping 144 Parade entries. They’re all listed below in the exact order they’ll appear on the night.

Print out this guide or bookmark this page on your phone so you can read along with what’s happening from 7:45pm on Saturday March 1.

Along with all the regular favourites, this year’s Parade contains no shortage of special guests, and surprises Mardi Gras are keeping up their sleeves for big reveals on the night.

Last year singer Delta Goodrem was on stage at the official Mardi Gras Party, and this year she’ll be seen at the parade on Oral-B’s corporate float, stopping briefly to sing live at Taylor Square.

Meanwhile, 100 Pam Anns will join their in-flight queen in an extravagant float that we’re told is “very ready for take-off.”

Singer Katie Underwood will also float down Oxford Street, on the Coast Out LGBTI Coffs Harbour festival parade entry.

Fabulous duo Trevor Ashley and Rhonda Burchmore will be the hosts for The Flinders Seats viewing area. Find out more about The Flinders Seats here.

As always, marriage equality is a central theme of the Parade, but there are many other causes on display too, including five floats specifically sticking up for our LGBTI friends in Russia.

And don’t rush off – stay until the very end for the night’s showcase performance – directed by Baz Luhrmann and promising to be a “dazzling spectacular”!

Our photographers will be out on the Parade route again this year so smile for the cameras! Here’s our photos from last year’s Parade.

Here’s a map of the parade route – remember that the Oxford Street section tends to be very crowded with spectators, so for a better chance of a good view, head a little further down Finders Street.

Get yourself there early to grab a good spot! Special event clearways will be in place from 6am and road closures will start from 3pm, before the Parade starts from 7:30pm.
The best way to get to the Parade is to leave the car at home and take public transport.

We recommend you travel to Central Station and walk to the parade starting point or your preferred viewing place. For timetables, maps and trip planning use Transport Info 131500 or online at

Please also note that glass bottles will be banned from all public places, and police will be monitoring alcohol-free zones.
