Guess Who's Had A Facelift?

That’s right – Same Same has had a few nips, tucks and injections this week – here’s the low down on what’s changed.

Now everyone has a My Same Same page. This page keeps you updated with everything your friends are doing on the site. For instance, if your friends ‘heart’ articles, add new mates, update their status or ‘shout’ at each other, then you can see it all on one page. Have a look at your own to keep tabs on your friends, or have a look at other people’s to get a window into their world.

You can view your own by selecting the My Same Same option in the Me drop down menu, or view someone else’s by using the See It All link on their Profile Summary page.

On your profile now there is a small text area which allows you to update your status, and tell everyone how you’re feeling or what you’re up to. You can update it from most Same Same pages in the right hand side, or from your own profile page. It will also be updated under your name on any of your forum posts.

The Profiles are a lot sexier these days. They’re loaded with up-to-date info on each of you. Now without clicking on a thing you can see just how full someone’s profile is, and on first sight you’ll get a taste of all of it – from new pics, blog posts, friends, galleries, favourite articles – and for contributors you can take a peek at everything they’ve published too.

Same Same has a whole new area called All About. Wanna find out everything we’ve ever said about Anthony Callea or gay marriage? Now you can! You can even add yourself as a interested peep and we’ll let you know when the news breaks! Head to All About from the News menu, or click on the tags at the bottom of articles.

Groups are up and running and we predict they’re going to totally transform the way you use Same Same. There’s a whole new group homepage now, and each group now has the ability to host their own events and promote them within their group. And, if your group is really popular you get their own forum too.

We noticed many people were making comments on articles that we thought should really live in the forums. So now any new article comments also post a forum thread. Any additional comments from the article go onto the thread – as do any from the forum.

We hope you love Same Same as much as we do – and if you’re anything like us you want to spread the word. You can now import your MSN, Gmail or Yahoo contacts (and some other formats) and invite them to join Same Same. You might even find out that some of your friends are already here.

Now when someone leaves a message in your Shoutbox you’ll get an action sent to you. You can also view shouts back and forth by clicking on View Conversation.

You can now link your forum posts directly to entries within the What’s On and if there are events linked to posts, you can use the Social Calendar features to see who is going and to add yourself to the roll call.

Just some of the hot new features on the revamped Same Same. Excited? We are.
