We haven’t seen a line up like this in a while – Frankie Knuckles, Stonebridge and Freemasons will play alongside Alex Taylor, Mark Murphy, Sista P and more wild animals than you can poke a stick at! And for the ladies, Bitch present their Annual Masquerade Ball at Slide. They’ll be transforming the venue into a grand ballroom with a twist! It’s their biggest production yet with over 12 live performers and musicians, as well as some of Sydney’s finest female DJs. Expect the unexpected, but also expect a rockin’ great night. The boys from Gay Bash are taking over three levels of the Oxford Hotel to bring you a New Year’s Eve party like no other. They’ve pulled together a hot DJ line up including Dangerous Dan, Orlando Boom Boom and Buttfuck from Bang Gang, Spruce Lee from Ro Sham Bo, Stew York from Starfuckers, Chicks On Deck and Mike Tyson – no, not the ear biting rapist, the other guy. The folk from Gay Bash like to do things a little differently – they’ll also have a piano bar, where you’ll hear the likes of Madonna, Snoop Dogg and Neneh Cherry being belted out on the baby grand. We think that’s cool. And at $25 + BF it’s an absolute bargain.

If you feel like leaving the city behind this New Year’s Eve, why not head up to Tropical Fruits? This magical event takes over the Lismore Showgrounds and the local pool every year and sees thousands of people travel from all over the globe to get down and dirty, in costume and out. This year it’s all about the red carpet and at this party, the biggest star is you – just as it should be. Grab a bunch of friends, pitch a tent in the camping grounds, make a holiday out of it. The Flinders Hotel will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party and with DJs Chip, Renae Stanton and Sandi Hotrod at the helm, we think it’ll be a hot way to bring in the new year. Arq will be pumping New Year’s Eve too with Shigeki and Paul Goodyear playing upstairs and Jimmy Dee, Rob Davis and Mark Alsop downstairs. Tickets are $45 pre-sale, $50 at the door.

After now after all of that – where are you all going to recover?

Homesexual will once again take over Home at Cockle Bay with Copacabana. It’s all about the beach so (un)dress to impress in your hottest beach wear – think sarongs, speedos and bikinis – mingle with the hottest men and women and cut loose with Same Same’s Dan Murphy, Chip, Jayson Forbes, Johan Khoury, Justin Scott and Terry Vietheer. There are still tickets left and at $39 they’re gonna go fast.

On Tuesday January 1 the gorgeous folk at Phoenix Rising will be doing what they do best – recovering! They’ll be open from 4am until 3pm on New Years Day and for those with extra stamina, they’ll be open Wednesday 2 Jan from 6.30am until 3pm. We like that.

For all the trance fans out there, Ruby’s putting on Twilight Pink at the Shift. They’re promising happy music, a laser show that promises to be better than their Twilight party after Sleaze, fantastic lighting, a sound system especially installed for the event and of course the Ruby DJs you all know and love – Shane Wiles, Ruby, Ryan Murphy and Stephen Simpson.
