It’s the awesome new exhibition that everyone is talking about, and has already hosted over a million visitors in Melbourne. Whether you have already seen it and loved it, or haven’t been to it yet, this is your perfect excuse to check it out. Be prepared to lose hours as you have more fun than you can poke a joystick at!

Game On is currently on ACMI at Federation Square, and is the first of its kind in Melbourne. The exhibition comprises of over 125 playable games, that range from old Atari game consoles to the very latest in gaming technology like PSP and Nintendo Wii.

As well as being incredibly fun and interactive, Game On surveys the history of gaming and technology, highlighting the innovations and pioneers that make our recreational gaming what it is today, and giving us hints at what tomorrow holds. And best of all, you can play it all.

Game On Gay Gamers! is a Same Same Culture Club event and is on Thursday 19th June from 5pm to 9pm at ACMI, Federation Square. It’s $15 full price, $10 concession. Click here and add your name to the roll call, so others will know you’re coming. We’ll see you there!

Fruits In Suits
The gorgeous Botanical with its nearby garden surrounds, plays host to the cocktail party event where the queer professionals of Melbourne meet. The Fruits In Suits (the gay fellas) and Melbourne Lemons (lesbian lasses) present a combined event each month, providing a great opportunity for social and business networking, that is a more professional alternative to the usual scene. Dress it up, have a mingle, and if you’ve got it, let it jingle.

Fruits & Lemons is on at The Botanical , 169 Domain Rd, South Yarra on Thursday 19th April. Entry is free, and all the mingling starts at 6pm. Members get in free, and non members pay $10 entry. So it really pays to join up eh? Fruits and Lemons will be on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Don’t worry, we will give you a reminder closer to the next one.

More Fun Than You Can Bear
Woof! If Melbourne has been looking a bit more furry recently, then you’re not just seeing things. Hundreds of Australia’s sexy bear and bear lover community has descended on our fair city in celebration of Hibearnation, which is well and truly in full swing at the moment.

The week long festival of beary goodness concludes this weekend with some really fun events.

Be at the Laird on Saturday night and check out who wins the top prizes at the Men On Men Art Competition. Also on at the Laird that night is the Mr Australasia Bear Competition, when our hottest and bravest bears strut their stuff, to win the chance to represent Australia overseas. This is definitely one of the most fun events on the gay calendar. Don’t miss it.

Also, the next BearDayOut is on this Sunday at Sircuit from 8pm, and is the closing After party to Southern Hibearnation 08. Best news is that entry is free.

BearDayOut is a VIC Bear fundraising event. Doors open at 5pm, pots are $2.50 and Beer will be free from 5 – 6pm (Vic Bear Members $10, non members $12).

Vic Bears will be making selection for the 2009 Bear desk calendar ‘Bears at The Pub’, at Bear Day Out events. BearDayOut Calendar winners will win a photo shoot at Sircuit, appear in the calendar, and take home a BearDayout winners Bag.

Congratulations to this months BearDayOut Bears Archie and Graham who will all appear in the calendar. Look out for them at Sircuit too.

Dial L for L-bar
The Blue Velvet Lounge in Collingwood isn’t traditionally a queer venue. But recently, they certainly have been making a play for us, and they seem to have been doing all the right things. Events like L Bar are the proof in the pudding.

This Saturday 21st June, join your sexy L-Unit hostesses who will be cruising all 3 levels of the venue to make sure your comfortable and smiling. Resident DJ sistaSPIN is joined by guests playing all the best & latest house, electro, tribal and anthems keeping the dancefloor pumpin’, at this night of feel good fun for girls and their friends.

The flirting and fun begin at 9pm and entry is just $10.

DogPound
Abode in St Kilda is a pretty special venue. There is no place like it in Australia that I know of, that caters so perfectly and organically to a queer and kinky crowd who embrace fetish culture. If you haven’t been there yet, their new event may be the perfect opportunity to check out what all the sexy fuss is about.

DogPound aims to be Abode’s version of WoofClub, where your durty bitch mates can join the Woofy music and social stuff. If you want to wear leather, fetish, etc, you’ll be around a crowd where you’ll feel comfortable wearing it.

Beware! Attitude will be rejected at the door! It’s important to keep in mind that Abode is a fetish club, so it’s best to make an effort to keep your attire in the fetish vein. They have a great cloak room available, if you want to wear something daring. So make an effort, or at least keep it all black.

DogPound takes place this Saturday at Abode from 10pm, and tickets are $30 on the door.

Gurlz in Uniform!
There really is nothing hotter than a girl in uniform, so you can be sure that Tuff Muff’s new Uniform event this Saturday at the Glasshouse is going to go off! From fabulous fatigues to nasty nurses, Sexy slouch hats to gritty girl scouts, Sleazy she-sailors to damn pretty police, get creative and take this awesome opportunity to unleash that uniform fantasy you’ve had deep inside you for so long. You can bet you’ll see it and be it at the at the first ever Tuff Muff Women in Uniform Party!

DJs Lady Lamenta, Red Light Disco and Peter Kung will be joined by special guest DJ CYPHER. Best uniform on the night wins a drink card. SO, dress to impress at this super fun GLBTIQ event!

Santa’s Coming Early Baby!
Get in early folks! This event is still a couple of weeks away, but then again it’s never too early to put a fab event like this in your diary to make sure you don’t miss it.

Melbourne Mardi Gras Group (MMGG) is one of Victoria’s sexiest entries at Mardi Gras, and Xmas in July is their primary fundraising event of the year. Join them at Club Evolution in Commercial road on Saturday 12th July and you’ll be treated to a fab line-up of DJs including Dan Murphy (Syd), Jake Kilby (Syd), Stryker (Syd) and Chris E(Melb). Plus all the spunks and spunkettes from MMGG will be there to boogie right along side you!

Your $25 ticket will go towards supporting a great group of girls and guys to once again put their best foot forward up at Mardi Gras, and show Sydney a great slice of Victoria’s unique queer culture… and flesh.

There will be an after party for the event too, at Moser Room at Chaser’s Nightclub in Chapel Street, which will feature the very fun DJ Mike Evans.

You can get tickets from the Muscle and Bodyshape Gym at 35 Cato street prahran or by emailing Danni at melbournemardigras@gmail.com.
