I remember last year it was the same deal and most of the parties fizzed.
Unfortunately multiple choices does not a good party make.
I guess you just pick one and hope for the best which is what Ive done but Im having second thoughts now after seeing that the party I chose appears to be desperately trying to sell tickets on inthemix perhaps because they havent got enough initial sales which usually means goodbye gay and hullo straightsville.

Always makes me laugh when people slag off Mardi Gras/Sleaze/NYE saying they dont get their numbers like they used to etc.

Back then they were the only parties on that night/weekend.

Now we have so much competition all on the one weekend that there is alway someone who suffers and so the party/venue doesnt do it anymore. If only they were spread out more. I would go to a Toybox but they always come after the big parties which I love and just dont do 2 in a row. Toybox Easter ? you bet !

And as you say if a party is not selling well, who can blame the promoters for advertising outside the gay community ?

But Fox Studios is it for me. The Hordern is the BEST venue. As have said before even after all these years still get a tingle as I walk in for the first time.

halfway up the left hand side of the Hordern we stand/sit/dance and only about
10-20 feet into the dance floor

Dome where the DJ box usually is we dance in that first part under the Dome again just a few feet in so we dont miss each other.

What will you be wearing so can look out ? or PM me if you dont want to advertise.

Me 5'9" will have camo cargo's and grey singlet but thats usually tucked into the back of my cargo's by midnight.......skinny as per the gallery pics.

Have been to the last few Extra Dirty events after big parties (MG and Sleaze) and have like the recovery more than the main event. Opted out of sleaze this year for that reason, and cost. Will be at dirty tho! :) woohoo!

Meeting/Sitting/Dancing spot - make one.

Hordern - halfway up left side and sit in bleachers at this point and walk straight onto the dance from from this spot about 10-20 feet in.

Dome - when you walk in and the DJ box is on your right usually we dance in that
first part of the dance floor under the dome , again only a few feet in.

Been like that for 20 years and nobody gets lost. If you feel like dancing on the other side of Hordern its fine, you just know where everybody will be when you want to meet up with them again.

And I dont carry the phone with me either.......loathe all that standing on the dance floor with the phone to their ears screaming out where they are.

I used to enjoy the pills back in the 80's. I think I must have been one of the first lot using them. I guy I worked with was telling me about these great pills in from America etc and so got 2.
Had half the first time and was reasonably nice . Then a mate and I decided that we should do that party thing they have after the Parade. So dropped half in front of Flinders and nothing for about 1/2 hr so dropped the other as we walked through th park to the party. Suddenly I just stopped walking , grabbed my mates arm in a vice like grip and just stood. Finally started moving and we got to the party and there was a big water puddle running across the foot path and I just stopped and stared till someone Queen shouted "its only water" .........bitch.......... Party was in the Government Pavillion and they had those drag queens that came out of Birthday
Candles ??? till there was about 10 of them. My mate said he had the best time watching me and couldnt wait to try them. Back then e's were E's and not the shit you get now that either make you sick or last for 2 hrs and thats it. I got a bit dry wretching on them or like had drunk 50 cups of coffee so gave them up.
Speed for me was always purrfect. Only took enough for the energy and no more and the is virtually no recovery required.

You took 1 and when it hit about 30 mins later you often had to sit down as it was just sensory overload ! you got up , you paced around , you sat down, you got up and it took another 30mins to settle into it. Plus when you started dancing again you would get another hit and off you'd go. Sit down for a bit to rest, get up and dance and probably another hit. Next minute is 4am and you wonder where the fark the night went.

I first started going on speed only and that hasnt changed much in the 20-25 years of partying but believe the pills are mostly crap. Now and again you luck into good ones but I started dry wretching a lot ( I always have a small bit ) but sometimes my stomach felt like I had downed 50 coffees and felt sick not to mention the number of times I would drop one and wouldnt even get a peak !!!!!!!!!!!! unbelievable.

Couldnt touch food , couldnt sleep :) arrhhh memories.

My gym mates have to drop 2 to get some kind of peak and throughout the night drop 4-6 of them !!!!!!!!!!!! you'd be dead if you took what first came to Australia.

And you're right , no stupid mitsubishi,heart,dove stamps ! usually a small oblong shaped pure as white pill.

Besides the sick feeling , I was more pissed off with the waste of $50 on a nothing pill especially when there was no WHAM peak. The days of eccy walks and you couldnt decide if you wanted to dance or sit or walk or whatever till you settled into it.
Then you'd walk back onto the dance floors to your friends with that stupid grin and try and get your dance step back which curiously kept disappearing and re-appearing :) and same would happen to your friends. They'd disappear for 1/2 hr or so and come back onto the dance floor with that out of it smile.

Oh and looking for a mate , finding them just sitting their in the bleachers staring at the lasers, you go up , sit next to them , mumble a few words and then join them in the staring till you both came back down.
