View Full Version : Summer Heights High Says Sorry.

The parents of a woman who died after taking a party drug were disgusted while watching Wednesday's episode of the ABC's hit show 'Summer Heights High', which featured a storyline about the ecstasy death of a blonde student with the same name. (http://www.samesame.com.au/article/1373/new_news_item)
The parents want ABC to pull the remaining episodes. The ABC plan to apologise, but that's all.
What do you think?

Funniest shit ever. Except for the parents, but the fact it was filmed and completed BEFORE she died means there's no ill will there.
That's comedy for you.

All i hope is that following the apology - the creative genius isn't stifled by the need to conform to this event.
I want to see where Mr G's musical goes!

It is an unfortunate coincidence, nothing more, and as such an apology to the family should suffice.
Honestly, this is the best comedy I have seen in a long time.
The musical numbers are priceless... "she wants to root all the boys, she can't help taking the drugs on a saturday night..."

ha, right on hedys! what is the world coming to when one family can't just shut up and get over it. it's an unfortunate co-incidence, but the whole world isn't gonna stop because of it.
australia's conservative enough as it is. we need people like chris lilley stirring the pot.

There's plenty of rubbish (usually AMerican) sitcoms around for those to watch who are easily offended. Shows like this one only come along once in a while. They don't need to apologise for anything. All those other sitcoms (above mentioned) need to apologise. You know who you are...

The funny thing is that they were talking about this in controversial storyline in the media before the show was even released and these parents were complaining back then. I remember reading it on a news website a few weeks back. Then they said they would be watching before complaining. So this goes to prove that these people (conservatives) sit around watching these programs waiting for something to complain about... They could have changed the channel....

Perhaps people should not focus on the negative. Who is to say that Chris' message is not one that says look at what our public school teachers have to put up with these days, like with many of Jonah's teachers.
They complain even that kids are now starting to talk like Jonah, I can remember being in high school and you know what there were people like Jonah back then and there still are now that is why his characters are created from real people.
I don't know where I am going with this, it just seems that everything I like on television seems to draw some sort of controversy and bulls**t lol
