lol - awesome.

http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html is a pretty good read, but nobody get any smart ideas about taking a stab at the "only gay in the village" ( i.e. Same Same )

I just skimmed that article about how to be a great conversationalist... and you know what, it inspired me!

I off to get a coffee and I promised myself that I would start a conversation with the first person that came into the kitchen.

So I met a new person at work, I know what department she's in and how her job relates to mine, and now I can say hi to her next time I see her! Well done me!

that sounds like fun, let us know if you find out anything interesting from your morning kitchen chat!

That article remidns of "The Game" by Neil Strauss, it's a book about how to pick up women but I found it fascinating with the pyschology behind it all (plus, The Game he talks of is totally creepy and fascinating).

It's all really about how to spark off the conversation in the first place, isn't it?

A slightly more practical contribution - I couldn't remember how to tie a wide tie properly at one point, being a fan of the ol' loop, swoop and pull method of tie tying. Anyway, noone I knew could tell me and I needed to know how to tie... So I looked up 'how to tie a tie' on google. The result?

Awesome.
