That is disgusting. That's not even funny/kitch/camp. And they keep telling us that Sleaze Ball is meant to be the darker, sleazier version on Mardi Gras. How can it be dark or sleazy when they have Nikki Webster playing, unless by dark you mean a perverse form of pedeophilia for the lesbians..

you obviously don't get it. nikki webster singing strawberry kisses electro style? it was totally spot on. i thought it was one of the best mardi gras shows i've ever seen. where else would you see that? she came, she took the piss out of herself, she totally nailed it. i heard great things about it all night. i thought it was totally dark.
i have to say that this sleaze ball totally impressed me. mardi gras have really worked hard to bring back some key things to those events - theatricality and costume. i think people totally engaged with it, there was real energy going on - at least from what i saw. the fire was amazing (i hated the trance at the end in the hordern, but hey - the trance fiends needed somewhere to go!) - i have to say, it's the best mardi gras party i've seen in a long time.
so stop whinging - especially if you weren't there.

Um were you there?
When I heard Nikki was performing I thought it would be daft but the show was actually really good. Nikki was dressed up as a wind up toy doll and as for the strange pedeophilia comment... she is 20!
Personally I loved Cosimos's show the best. The twisted circus characters and the take on the catcher scene out of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was fantastic.
Well done Mardi Gras!

where you even there danny? by that comment it doesnt sound like it. As a man i find that pedeophilia comment offensive. you are making a lot of assumptions.

Everyone ignore me, I wasn't there, and couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams that a NW show could be cool, but obviously it was. Sydney 2000 was a long time ago and shouldn't have jumped to conclusions... sorry.

I've been to a heap of Sleazes, and there was something about Zirkus that was just really special. Fun crowd, the best music I've heard at a Sleaze ever (except the "trance" at the end, but hey that's just not my cup of tea) and the scenic and staging was just brill.
Nicky Webster was tops. What a great night NMG.

My first sleaze and had a ball.. I liked Vanessa Amarossi's performance very late morning. I bopped on in the Forum for most of the night with new friends.. it's always a good night when I lose my singlet! :)

Zircus was so much fun - I spent most of the night in the Dome, but popped out for the 1am and 4am shows, and the costume parade. The atmosphere was friendly and excited, and I loved the spectacle and the costumes. And Manacle in the morning :)

Can I just publicly say as well, what an amazing job Dan Murphy did in the Forum. You rocked it Dan!

and can i just say that the music at manacle monday morning was probably the best it's EVER BEEN. so impressed... loved it when the power went out at manacle for five minutes too... the entire venue was just plunged into darkness and silence. the most surreal experience ever!

I thought using Nikki Webster in the opening show was genius. You either got it or you didnt..NMG did a great job, the best party this organisation has put on so far. Cosima's show was brilliant, the set was fab...the trance music at the end...bad choice..Dan Murphy rocked the forum..I had so much fun I can hardly stand it :)

I don't believe that was the case. The lighting at Sleaze was the first time that particular system has been used anywhere in the world. I'm pretty sure that everything at Sleaze was planned and payed for by New Mardi Gras.

yes - any lighting designer will tell you, you don't just suddenly integrate another party's lighting design into your own with less than a week to go before bump in. it's just not gonna happen.

correct - take it from me - as an event producer/manager and lighting designer. it was all planned months in advance, there were minor changes in the last week but nothing major.
