heres my 2 cents worth re the Nikki Webster. we loved her as a young cute little girl @ the Olympics. We kinda thought Strawberry Kisses was a cute little teenagers song, then she grew up and we (the aussie public) couldnt quite get our heads around this young woman doing her va-va-voom Ralph mag sexy(?) thing. We still see her as a young girl. Just like all the YTT performers, its a struggle to be seen as an adult and taken seriously.So I think therein lies the freakishness of Nikki Webster and the genius of using her in the Zirkus show. Thats how I see it. I thought she was bizarre and cute and perfect for that show. It was so wrong it was right.

I have to say I obviously despise all of the "music" she has put out so far (she probably already has), HOWEVER it is plain as the nose on her face that she does possess at least on iota of talent judging from her performance at the Olympics and when everyone finally jumped on the "Nikki Webster, lets tease the shit out of her" bandwagon, I started to see parallels with Kylie, what Nikki is opening up to our community is great (at least she never was Hillsong and spurted out all that crap like one half of the Australian Idol team that I would rather be dragged along the back of a truck to Victor Harbor with to listen them talk about how they love God) she chose our community as a sanctuary and all she has to do now is hook up with some hot producers, get a new sound and a single out and she may be able to pull it off.

all nikki detractors - stop taking it all so seriously! it's a party and given that it's sleaze - which is a fundraiser, mardi gras need to think of clever ways to get bang for their buck and give you surprises! so relax! sheesh.

i don't think nikki really ever saw this as a comeback - i just think she saw it as a fun gig and the lady obviously has a sense of humour. and judging by how well her performance went down at sleaze, i think the community still has a sense of humour too.

so if you weren't there, at least watch the video of the show and you may end up getting the joke.
