Four UK firemen have been fined and severly spoken to after they interrupted outdoor beat sex and were accused of being homophobic. According to the UK Telegraph, two firefighters have been fined almost £1,000, one was demoted in rank, and another has been forced to take a two day equality course. The fines will be donated to charity. The men have also been transferred to other fire stations. (http://www.samesame.com.au/article/1431/new_news_item)

I have to say i'm a bit baffled by this one.... as emergency services workers we regularly patrol parks etc for potential incidents. What did the fire officers do that was so wrong?????

Having sex in public, however fun, is still illegal. But this isn't about the guys in the bushes - this is about the guys who weren't doing their job. We put a lot of trust in our firefighters and if they're not doing their job i reckon it's definitely the right thing to do to punish them harshly. To be honest, i'm surprised they've still got a job after this.

i guess you don't expect floodlights mid-interlude... i suppose the firemen thought they were being very funny. but hey, that's what you get when you have sex in public. if you want privacy, get a room... it's a risky business.
