Dante's Cove

Was wandering through my local DVD store this week and got distracted by the cover for a flick called Dante's Cove and took it home to watch it. Has anyone else seen Dante's Cove?

Had no idea what I was in for, but it's apparently a gay and lesbian horror TV show/mini series that's currenlty in its third season in the US. And Oh My God. It is just soooooo bad that it's gooooood.

Take the bad acting of Baywatch, add the flesh of soft porn, throw in the script of Melrose Place, combine with the dodgy set of Bold and Beautiful and simmer with enough gay and lesbian eye-candy to rival DNA and you've got Dante's Cove.

The plot is some weird Buffy-esque concotion of nineteenth century vampires, and a hot young guy who gets turned into a decrpeit old man and is tied up in a basement until "only the kiss of a young twink" sill set him free. I'm being serious here.

Can someone else please get it out from their local DVD store so we can compare war stories. Or has anyone else had the displeasure/pleasure of seeing it?

I've only seen advertising online for this. I saw that Tracey Skoggins is in it, and as a Babylon5 fan i'd be willing to give it a go. ;-)

I bought the DVD of series 'one' from the States a while back and can't wait for series two to become available. You right when you describe it a so bad that it's good. From what I've read about series two and three though it gets better, much better.:D

My damn DVD store only seems to have one disc of the whole thing, which has kinda got me hooked but feeling damn unsatisfied. I might have to order it from the States then.

Have heard that the budget got increased after the first series and it's apparently a lot more slick in seasons 2 and 3. Love it!

rang the video store and they said more was to come.... so we still waiting....

people are right... its so bad its good.... like a jackie collins novel... you know you shouldnt read them.. but they are so bad they are page turners and hard o put down...

Season 1 is made up of a couple of episodes, but for some reasons they are split up over two DVDs and have only released the first DVD in Australia so far. So you watch it, and get into it, and then can't get the second one....

And even then when I hired it it wasn't clear that it was a series at all, only when the huge "To Be Continued" came up at the end did I realise what I'd just seen. So there's some more forewarning.

oh god - I watched about 10 minutes of episode 1 last night and had to turn it off... Talk about tragic!!!

Its like a bunch of porno stars wanted to be "real actors" and someone actually gave them permission... Tim i'm most displeased

Okay, so I just went and had a look at the Dante's Cove website, and jesus, this is worse than PORN. At least porn has money shots.

I think it could be very addictive though.
