While over 50 per cent of HIV diagnoses in Britain are amongst heterosexuals, it is thought most of these cases occurred outside the country. Gay men are still considered to have the highest rate of HIV infection within the Britain.is there a lifetime ban on straight people who have travelled overseas?

During the hearing Dr Richard Tedder from University College London, said that viruses were “not politically correct” and opposed any change to the ban because of the window period before HIV could be detected in blood samples.smarmy dickhead. it's not political correctness to read some actual statistics instead of relying on the preconcieved notions you have about the connection between HIV and homosexual men. or as Joal said:

@ Robbie: I believe in Australia you can give blood so long as you haven't had anal sex in the prevous 12months regardless of your parners sex. Australia's HIV infection rate is much smaller then in Europe and the Americas
