Facilitated by the editor of seminal underground punk zines 'Grot Grrl' & 'Thunderpussy' + special guests. Come and help create a page for Ladyfest Melbourne 2009 zine! Every contributor gets a free copy. BYO weapons of mass re-production (ie. scissors n glue).
'DIY Crap-Core Band Workshoppe' 12pm - 2pm, Free
Fulfill your wanton musical desires with this hands on workshop and skill-sharing session, hosted by Suzanne Grae & The Katies. Bring forgotten stanzas, your primary school recorder, pots n pans percussion, guitar, lagerphone, or just your un/trained musical genius (amps and drums provided). SGK will lead you through topics such as Musical Terminology 101, The Format of A Rock Ballad, The Art of Writing Lyrics (Or How To Mine Your Personal Experiences For Something Pithy or Amusing And Then Be A Bit Obscure About It So You Sound Important) and so on. The end result of the workshop will be the writing of a DIY crap-core rock ballad in the key of E!
