God I am sick of reading about the gay gene. When are we going to give up this ridiculous idea that there's just one "cause" of homosexuality, one simple explanation for desire? The whole idea that we have to "prove" that sexuality isn't a "choice" just so we have some "legitimate" claim to equal rights is just pathetic.

i have to say i agree with you rheiner. is anyone out there looking for the straight gene? i mean, i know that sounds lame, but seriously - it's just as valid.

I'm just pissing myself at the thought that if they do find a 'gay gene' (ridiculous idea, I agree) those interfering ultra-conservatives might have to choose between aborting a gay child or raising one!! :-) (come on - it's funny in a kind-of dark, sick way!)

Erin-Rose is right it is funny ... whats worst haveing a gay kid or playing god and getting a designer baby. From what i've read its the general consensus (well with psych specifically) that it is a fusion of nature and nurture and is unchangeable.
