So poor Gretel's been dumped from Big Brother as Ten tries to revamp the ailing show. (http://www.samesame.com.au/article/1554/new_news_item) What do you think? Good move or bad?

I'm not a big fan of big bro, but I thought Gretel was the only intelligent person in front of the camera (at least from what I've observed.)

Gretel had handled pretty difficult situations on live TV (although I'm not sure whether some of them were scripted - especially when that guy out with sticky tape over his mouth.) And she tries her best to make the most of people with very little talent and challenging behavioral issues.

Intelligent, modest and nice to people, no wonder they got rid of her...after all, isn't this the same channel that airs Aus Idol?!

i totally agree. she's a quality lady, handles the pressure amazingly well and is tough. she's not ashamed to ask the probing questions either. i think she was built for this show - although she has kinda outgrown it. i say, why go down with the ship gretel! seems like every year the selection of housemates gets MORE and MORE banal and predictable.

i just can't stomach it anymore. and now we don't even have uncut to keep us engaged.

I agree with Christian ... she was clever abandoning ship ... but i don't think 2 new hosts will make the show any better. Chanel 10 needs to figure out we hate reality.

Oh Great more Jackie O.....a great role model and shows girls just how dumb they can be.
Give us a break 10 you didnt need to dumb down an already dumb show.

yes - the reality is that REALITY IS DEAD. honestly. i don't mind competitions like america's next top (crackwhore) model, but i am tired of vacant TURDS like the last few casts of big brother.

i'd rather fist myself without lubricant than sit through that again.

Reality is sooo not dead. Stuff like Amazing Race and Survivor can still be good fun to watch, plus there are more and more of those reality/doco fusions like Border Patrol, Miami Ink etc. Reality's been around since Cops and Real World - that's well over 15 years! It's not going away.

That said, i haven't watched Big Brother for years. I keep trying and there are just too many footy playing, dress wearing suburban borings on there. They're even less interesting to watch on TV than they are in real life, especially when all they do is sit around a house chatting. At least starve them or throw them in a pit of snakes or something, you know?
