Hi ya!
I know its early and most people out there don’t want to be thinking about it yet but I am a little stumped on what to do for Valentines day as its only 15 days away!
I tried the Open Air Cinema but it is booked… I was thinking of a Cruise around the harbor http://www.sydney.com.au/valentines-day-cruises-on-sydney-harbour.htm but I don’t know whether they are Gay friendly, not that they will be rude but for dinner and dancing I really don’t want to be the only male couple attempting to waltz but fumbling over who is leading who!
Does anyone know of any romantic Gay/Gay-Mixed places for Valentines Day? To complicate matters I am not after Drinks at Stone Wall or Degustation at Forty One, I want something different… one other idea was a Hot air balloon ride over the city to a champagne breakfast… http://www.redballoondays.com.au/category/High-Flyer/ballooning
Sorry guys I am just a hopeless romantic!

It's a little overdone, but a nice picnic in the botanical gardens is nice, but it'll be you and everyone else in Sydney :P
If you have a car, a nice day in the national parks are nice, there's so many little roads and paths you can go down, and most of them are quite sparse ( can't say what they're like on valentines day though ) - It's nice to get out of the city every now and then.
Hot air ballon rides are awesome, I did one in Canberra a few years back, was totally amazing.
Water taxis are pretty cool too, get them to drop you off somewhere random so your partner has no idea where you're going and have lunch somewhere totally outside your usual click...
Well, that's what i'd do anyway :p

Re a harbour cruise, a general rule of thumb is if a dining place floats or revolves, the food will invariably be sub-standard and way overpriced. Making your own gourmet hamper is a nice personal touch, one of my fave picnic spots is a place called Sirius Cove in Mosman, next to Taronga Zoo. There is a grassed area right near the water and everytime I've been there it's been very peaceful and relaxing. There's also a walking trail that takes you along the harbour passed the zoo, all the way to Bradleys Head if you're feeling energetic. But whatever you end up doing on the day you'll be together, and that's the most romantic part!

I think a romantic dinner cruise (http://www.sydneyshowboats.com.au/harbour-events.html) in sydney harbour will be a good option for celebrating this valentines day.
I am planning to go for this my my boy friend. we booked the ticket already.. Then planning to go in Sydney Rocks area in the morning...
