hmmm... well, no. of course i don't think that. but honestly, six years? these people aren't going to change. if it was me, i'd be leaving. pronto. life is too short.

Gah this is revolting... I'd up n move.. gawd I had to move from Parramatta for the same kind of abuse.. ended up being a better choice than to fight back..

I've done the same, but that's a different story.
Anyhow, I agree...sometimes people just need to move and find a better neighbourhood to live in...not always, but sometimes...
Saying that, I'm glad they have brought their plight out to a global audience. I bet there are many more with similar stories to tell.

Its true homophobia is alive in the burbs.Many of us not blessed to live in cosmopoliton areas face this kind of abuse continually.Being gay we are a minority,an easy target.We suffer more than i suppose coloured peoples as being gay is more than skin deep.We can put on a straight facade theirfore we could be anyone and i think thats what frightens people and thats why they cant understand.Gay people often say we are accepted by the masses....if only it were true.

I think it depends on the situation and it can be very heard to tell, I have friends in Darlinghurst who cop frequent abuse from their macho roid head neighbours whilst I see more and more gay couples shopping down at my local shopping mall so I guess the line is always blurred but I do not encourage gay people to live in a box and only ever exclude themselves from proper interaction with heterosexuals
