me! lol. and maybe some people will start coming out of the woodwork on here? That would be nice! lol. Sometimes you feel like the only Perth person here! And the weather is starting to cool off so outdoors stuff is almost pleasant! lol

its' just a matter of spreading the word
we did it in brisbane and it is meant purely as a social network
the people are there, and we just need to spread the word about perth
if there are any budding fotographers who can become contributors to the site as well and writers, then there is tons of stuff to be had..
have a buddy in rockingham who is also interested in this group

Lol true. I just meant on this site. No one here seems to come in the Perth forum. It's a good idea though. We need more events for us in Perth. There's hardly anything!

I'm a decent photographer, just don't have the camera for it :( One day though! My friend has a really awesome Canon SLR which I used to drool over. He had all the bits n pieces too. Can't remember what it is anymore (it was a couple years ago).

My favourite picture I ever took: http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff89/angel-dreamz/Photography/Beach119.jpg

I would love a social network. Being the wrong side of 40 and newly single I have absolutely no idea how to get out and meet people. I love camping and swimming, kayak etc . I hate the night time drinking scene. I am a professional person and mother to 4 kids so time is restricted. I live close to the city. I heard about the dance classes but being single and not knowing ANY other "same sex interested" people would be too shy to turn up alone.

i am brisbane based
this is how we started here
one day we just decided to have a picnic in a park and put it out there
we had about 8 come along
coupla girls as well which was awesome
and now we do trivia nights at a gay pub, movie nights, restaurants, ten pin bowling, barefoot bowls....
the numbers are about the same, but sometimes different people
always qua;ity and we have fun cause there isn't any reason to get together, other than as friends
all it takes is for one person to suggest something, set a date and time, and off u go

You know, this is a great idea. Only just seen it. A non-threatening social environment outside of the normal hangouts is never a bad thing.

Outdoorman2, can you elaborate on what you mean with regards to photographers/contributors?

Same Same is always looking for contributors to their site...
you can just take pics of events, or night life in bars/pubs/social/political events, and/or write articles on whats going on over there...
my other half is anthony smith....he is the queensland editor for same same
feel free to contact him and find out how he got started as a contributor and is now the editor
the east coast is a long way away, but we would love to read about whats going on over there
also, i started getting same samers together here in a social non bar environment...
there are already people in this forum who are looking for that...
our very first social event for brisbane people also attracted some from outta town, and we just held it as a picnic in a park here in brisbane.
we only had about 10 people come along, including a coupla girls, but it was awesome.
since then we have had dinners at restaurants, board game picnics in a park, movie nights, and we hope to have bare foot bowls, maybe tennis, ten pin bowling...
we have also had same samers who were visiting from sydney and melbourne come along.
so, my suggestion is just to set a date and something to do, and no matter the numbers, go ahead with it....not everyone is into bars and getting trashed all the time, and this can make for some good friendships/support as well...
other than that, message me anytime u want
all my best to our west coast sisters
