Hey,
i hope this is the right section to type my stuff in =).
I am an 18yo student who thinks about going to Australia doing this work&travel stuff =). But before going there i want to know what gay live looks like there and perhaps i already meet some people here =).
So if you have any suggestions about working, traveling etc for me i would be really happy to read them =)
ahh... btw i am German =) so probably my English won't be the best =P

Look at SameSame's gallery (http://www.samesame.com.au/gallery/snapshot/) if you want to see what our scene is kind of like. The coverage is pretty good.
Suggestions and stuff like that really depend on where you end up living. The states all harbour a unique vibe.
For broader national advice, don't camp under gum trees. We have these things called drop bears that do exactly like the name implies. You'll die basically.
Also, watch out for all the killer wild life we have - sharks, jelly fish, sting rays, snakes, spiders, various insects-... Hi. :D
Not having the best English, really, its not a problem. With your situation and if you're a decent guy, you'll have a good time and find some good mates.

Unless you've used Google Translate or Babel Fish to write your post, I think you should be fine too.
Besides, you've probably been taught 'proper' English. ;) I hardly even remember what a verb is these days. ;)

My advice is that if you go to North Queensland, don't swim on the beaches due to Crocodiles and Box Jellyfish. If you go bushwalking, make sure you have plenty of water and go with people who are experienced bushwalkers.
Otherwise, i'm sure you will have fun here in Australia. :)

That's if he does go home. In March 2004 I arrived in Sydney with a backpack, planning to stay for 6 "months" holiday. :p
