Hello hello!

Just wondering how many of you girls go out and listen to live music? I do it a fair bit, but it's part of what I do :)

The girls who run Snatch & Grab/Girlthing (an indie club in Phoenix/Q Bar) host an open mic afternoon on the second Sunday of each month at the Clare Hotel, called "Chicks With Picks."
It's open to girls with guitars, and players of all styles. I haven't been down to check it out yet, but I hear its going really well!

I go out to a local gig once a month or so - always awesome live music and a great dance. I know for regular out-goers once a month is pretty lame, but it's about all I can manage with a small kid at home. When we lived in a big city I went out clubbing almost every weekend.
But I'm nowhere near sydney, so I don't know those ones

A few of my fave girls go to CWP regularly, have yet to have a clash and be able to go, but would love to.
Used to go to the Rose every Wednesday, the Hopetoun every Monday and the Annandale, Xcelsior, the Marquee and Bar Broadway every other week, and the Gaelic randomly about four times a year, until our music industry in Sydney kind of died in the ass.

Now I just go to random 2am gigs at the Lansdown when mates tell me they are playing, or if there is a chance the drummer from Torche Le Monde is playing shirtless.

I live a short walk from The Clare (and even shorter from The Abercrombie which is where they used to hold it) and I have always planned to go and check it out but haven't. I will one day!

They really should host it at The Vic on the Park, would make more sense

I love live music, but I have to travel to Sydney to see most shows. I perform with a friend at a local open mic shindig, but that's nothing huge; it IS a lot of fun, though!

Mostly it's country and blues stuff that gets played; we're one of the youngest that play and we bring the indie rock stuff.

Haha once a month isn't lame, its just good to get out and see what's on out there! I think the next CWP is on the 8th, hopefully nothing will interrupt it this time!

Okay! So on the 8th, which is this Sunday, I will be heading to Chicks With Picks to do a review for this very website! :P

Doors open at 4, hopefully I'll see some of you there.

I used to when I had friends and whenever there was an all ages gig on. I haven't seen anyone live since Bad Religion and NOFX were here last year in October. I miss it. D:
