i was a dairy farmer, recruit boatswaines mate, telemarketer, security guard, but most recently and more importantly I was like a liason officer that managed freight for one company which was being shipped through another company around melbourne.

Try seek.com. I think I saw some advertisements of some logistics companies that may fit your description.
Good luck.

cheers husky. though I tend to go to seek as a last resort.
I prefer to apply for jobs through people I know first, as it seems nowadays its more 'who you know' in the workforce, I've had alot more success with this.

you're welcome. :)
And I totally agree with you on the point of finding jobs through people you know. I'm also looking for a job at the moment and haven't had much luck. So I had to turn to one of my dad's connection and with her help, I will probably get a job soon. To be honest I'd rather find a job on my own but it's just not that easy to do. :(

mhmm. my old boss put me onto APS Gazette, its govo work, but pays well, and government jobs are good as they are less likely to fire you as easily as other workplaces - as they are more inclined to follow the rules they've invented.
I'm hoping to find something with APS in Sydney, but I've got to get as many options as possible before moving up, as its a big (costly) move for me.

^^^ if ur looking at gov jobs (and yep they pay well and are secure) then apart from APS gazette which is for aust public service jobs, there's also the nsw public service jobs

good luck bro :)

OMG - best to approach specialist recruitment agencies ? Research companies similar to the ones you have worked at.

Hey Wozzdogger!
Can you let me know via this thread how you go with finding work? I'm currently looking at moving back to Sydney and want to know what the job market is like down there! I've been looking around on seek and there seem to be a few things, but being that I'm up on the Gold Coast, it's pretty difficult to secure an interview (even though I tell them I'll fly down for it!)
Also if any of you other cool cats know of any jobs going itwould be sweet biscuits if you could post them up here perhaps.
Cheers kids!

Are there go go boys at the shift these days? I haven't been there in a while, but, surely things have not changed so much!

Not really. Only the glassies are Asian. The bar staff and managers are predominantly non-Asian.
Ernie, it would be a lot quicker if you strutted around shirtless in short shorts on a Saturday night :)

synergism, i happen to have a feeling i might not get accepted right now. coz the previous owner who was a major riece queen doest really own shift anymore. i think the ppl running it are the owners of the building or something. and they arent into asians. but i still see asians serving and working there. so i dunno. my dream job would be to work there tho. i want 800 facebook friends. and 800 fbs.
