I attempted to use the search function here to see if there was anything like this before, not sure if I used it right, but it pulled no results. I think it would be really interesting to know what everyone on here does with themselves during the working hours , so here goes.

What do you do for a living? Love it? Hate it? Crushing all over your boss? Are you between jobs? Studying? Couch surfing?

Tell us what you do for work, a living, or equivalent. If you like it, want to leave it, etc. What is the dream career you're chasing? Maybe you're in it now if you're just that lucky!

I'll start off:
At the moment I'm studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer). Loooove it. Massive math nerd and a more than a bit of a "techie". Originally I wanted to get into prosthetics (with a postgrad degree after this), though that might have changed, not sure at the moment as I am really loving the electronics side of things and might just focus on that.

Oh, and I've facebook stalked my lab demonstrator. Pretty sure that's the start of a crush? ;)

Facebook stalking... that should be a demonstration event at the London Olympics :-)

I think this thread was done... but no harm in doing it again!

I'm a Commercial Analyst in the Mining Industry, studying a Masters of Business (Applied Finance) at the same time... actually I should be there now... Whoops!

I can't say I love my Job... but I do enjoy it!

Like I said, highly likely I failed at using the search. Sorry!

And yes, I would dominate at a facebook stalking competition! Possibly my only chance of being in the Olympics so I'm all for that! haha

I'm doing volunteer data entry work and I'm probably going to find something casual as well to earn money.

I'm studying Human Movement and Nursing and love it to pieces. I have several different jobs and no crushes on bosses but massive crushes on lab instructors and have faceboook stalked a few of them at times. Nothing like a sporty cohort to get me distracted!

Icky: I'm an absolute nerd too :D

I am a senior manager in the Queensland public service. I have a BSc Hons in Geology and many years experience in coal exploration, scientific computer systems and then moved into information management. My current role combines all these skills plus management (more management training starting tomorrow) and is focussed on the mining industry. I am at the end of my career with retirement looming in the next 1 - 5 years if all goes to plan and I would not have done much different with my working life if I had the chance to do it again.

I am currently in the midst of setting up a web based content business, take pics for some of the local rags at events, make music and play gigs in my band My Cerulean Heart (.com), work as a jizz mopper in a local sauna and am the Brisbane editor for SameSame.com.au :D

yes, my life is busy!

wow Tara that's impressive!!

I do graveyard hours at one of the local servo's around Brissy - come find me at which one! A lot of other gays have as I get messages on manhunt going 'do you work at such-and-such?' lol! So if anyone ever wants a midnight snack come and say hi!! Especially on weekends when I usually have to ring the cops to get rid of drunk people, cos they scare me sometimes. The stoners are great - they only have munchies.
That's all i do really, but looking for either more work or study, but I hate the idea of how much study is gunna cost me :(

"Riiight. Where do I begin..." - Dr Evil

I work at Industry Licencing Unit (Office of Fair Trading, QLD Govt). Basically I help licence all 80,000 security providers, real estate agents/salesperson, motor dealers, auctioneers, seconhand dealers/pawnbrokers and travel agents in QLD :D
Oh how I love working there! It's now my longest job (1 year, 11 months, 2 weeks and 4 days - (not that I'm counting ;))) Everyone's basically a big happy family working hard but laughing alot. I'm still employed full time temp but I'm hoping that I'll snare a permanent position soon.

Other than working I spend my life with my adorable mum and cute/mad cat, usually on my laptop on the internet, playing my many RPG computer games or watching my sci-fi shows on TV. Long live the Geeks! :p hehehe

Thrawn. the "evil HR director (catbert)" told us yesterday that they will be looking at the long term temps in the agency to look at what can be done. She gave no timeframe. The rule was once you have been working as a temp for 2? years you can apply to be made permanent (from memory).
