I would like to tell the forum some great news from our Brisbane music scene. Ian Starr was former local artist (Ian was part of the Big Gay Day lineup in 2003 as a solo artist) and a dear friend of mine Ian Starr is cracking the international music scene at last. Something that some Aussie artists are finding hard at the moment. Ian if you remember was a former member of aussie teen boyband BOYSTAR in 2001/2003. The first single “Loverboy” debuted at no.12 on our Aria charts and they boys became a success in Australia with help from a German record label.. Ian then quit Boystar while the album was being released as their new manager and Ians parents didn’t see eye to eye on the project. I guess you could say Ian went a lil bit crazy for two years after.. unable to keep a manager and was dropped by the label. Out of shape and and unable to work (Ian is not the brightest card in the pack LOL) he eventually fixed himself up and now looks amazing and has made a comeback BIGTIME.

Nearly chocking over my breakfast watching the greek news last year, I found a skinny (Anthony callea lookalike) Ian singing on a tv show called “Fame Story” I was stoked! Reading threw the web I found out he is now working with the members from “Roxette” in Sweden and has a huge fanbase over there. Working on a Classical/Pop E.P he has done a few tracks with the hitmakers behind Alcazar,Britney and N*Sync. Now he is getting known in Canada as one of his songs is the theme tune to a television Pagent show over there in vein of Americas Next Time model. visit him @ http://www.myspace.com/ianstarr As member of the gay family of Australia I hope that we don’t slap down our gay singer like we have with Daren Hays and Anthony Callea… as Australian gays would rather watch a drag queen than have these boys perform at there venues. We treat these boys so horrible but im proud to call little Ian Starr my friend and will always support his music. His new song "Electricity" will be recorded next week along with a shoot by DNA/BLUE magazine celebrity photographer Russell Flemming. It should be amazing for him x

Go Russel Flemming.. he's a top notch photographer..

.. so not my type of music but good for him going so well as a solo performer

as for slapping down our australian gay peformers, IMHO Anthony Callea did terrible by us.. i dont think i have ever heard anyone say bad things about Darren Hays though..
