I think I am going to really miss them. :(

I stayed up to watch Atlantis, I was pleased that ABC24 showed it.

There was a beautiful shot of her belly from the main external tank camera at separation but I can't seem to find it online to post.

Agree Ammi although they were becoming same old same old

Busting for either another Moon landing or a Mars landing. Prefer the Mars landing.

Cant have all your eggs in one basket Sesame. Could say the same about all the $
countries spend on War.

Lots of tech comes out of NASA they we use in everyday things. Need to see what other minerals etc are out there and it wouldnt hurt that we dont all just live on earth in case of any dinosaur exterminating meteors.

Sesame Space exploration advances technology for mankind and can assist in dealing with global problems such as food shortages etc...

I'm going to miss the shuttle launches. Yet there will be something in the future. The U.S. won't be over taken as the leader in this area.

i think space exploration is a waste of billions of dollars better used to feed people :(

that much peddled argument is completely flawed

for example;

1 space shuttle launch costs the US government 1 billion dollars

they spend over a billion dollars every week on the wars

also for every $1 invested in NASA, it contributes approximately $130 to the US and global economy

Really- if we stand any chance as a species- we need to find a way out of this galaxy as quickly as possible- or we are quite fucked.
Just saying

i always wanted to be on the space shuttle when i was a kid (not the exploding ones though).

Does anyone remember that movie called Space Camp (i think) where are bunch of kids sitting in the shuttle for an excursion got blasted off into space by a robot? that was a favourite movie of mine for a long time - more for the fantasy of it coming true than anything else.
