Gotye announces Perth show; sells out four Forum shows in record time; single reaches #1 on the ARIA Chart and goes Platinum.
Gotye is very pleased to add a Perth show to his run of national album launches later this year.
Most of the dates – including a record four Melbourne Forum shows over one weekend – are completely sold out. There are a handful of tickets left to the second Adelaide performance at the Thebarton.
Wally de Backer's long-awaited album Making Mirrors is released this Friday, 19th August via Eleven: a music company. It was premiered in full last night on triple j and is streaming right now on triplej.net.au.
The current single from that album 'Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)' completed its steady ascent to #1 on the ARIA Charts last week and has now achieved Platinum sales.
Remarkably, Gotye’s 2006 album Like Drawing Blood also re-entered the ARIA Chart at #19 while his debut album Boardface made its first ever entry into the ARIA Charts at #93.
International interest in Gotye is also building, with the single reaching #2 on the iTunes Single Charts in both Holland and his native Belgium.
The Perth show will be held at the majestic and awesome Belvoir Amphitheatre venue on Friday December 9th and tickets go on sale next Friday 26 August.
