So, the sexologists have hit Sydney for their annual Sex Symposium, and as part of it they've done some research into Australian sexual practices. (http://www.samesame.com.au/news/local/614/I_Need_To_Be_Punished) One of the findings - that the people most likely to get a little kinky between the sheets are gays and lesbians (and what they call the "bi-interested". )

Which totally begs the question - who likes a little slap and tickle (followed by [insert dirty talk/condiment/electrical appliance here]?)

I want to know who they researched for this survey. Anal sex is described as an "adventurous" sexual practice. Really? God, that could be any given weeknight at my house after half a bottle of champagne. Who knew I was on the cutting edge of the sexual avant-garde?

And "looking at internet porn"? Fuck. STRAP YOURSELF IN. It's interesting to see how much heterosexual bias (for want of a better term) still creeps into things like this - I imagine a similar survey in the queer community would have drawn a considerably different picutre.

At the end of the day surveys like this still use conventional suburban missionary position BORING heterosex/uality as the yardstick that the rest of us are measured against.

Someone just get the sexologists a subscription to Treasure Island Media and sit back and wait for the 2008 survey...

very true though. and i love how you suggest that the bottle of champagne has something to do with you suddenly finding yourself on all fours on a sunday afternoon. ;)

i guess it just goes to show some people really would consider porn a bit of a leap from the everyday (i.e. missionary once a week after watching an episode of 'the bill'. )

no - i heartily endorse the tattoo thing, i understand the addictive nature of it, despite the pain. i have had one done - only a very small one - but i do want another. i am so soft though, i winced like a total fairy in the chair when i was getting it done...

i find it hard to commit to a pattern though.

same with piercings. i'd like to get something else pierced, but still undecided as to what i should go with.

have always liked the idea of prince alberts. i tend to like them on other people - not sure i could cope with getting one myself...

as i said - not good with pain!
