Hey Toriphiles,

I've just finished my first listen and I'm left somewhat underwhelmed... only one or two songs jumped out at first listen - Bouncing off Clouds and Beauty of Speed - but like most Tori releases, I'm sure the rest will have an effect after repeated listenings.

I often find that I need to imerse myself in the album rather than just listening to it, to really "get it" sometimes...

Thoughts, impressions?

I brought this album the day it came out and was a little unsure of what to expect after The Beekeeper. I have only listened to it once in its entirety because it is so long but overall I think it's great.
The Teenage Hustling song is my favourite by far; a little bit like 'She's Your Cocaine'; you can't help but dance to it.
The album is definitely great, and I look forward to listening to it more and finding new songs which stand out, but even more than that I'm looking forward to Tori coming to Australia.

look you two (not including starrrboy in this cos he seems to like it)! don't be discouraged. this is one of those albums that takes you by surprise. it's not about being hooked on the first listen. take it from me - i've had this album for the last month and i listen to it more and more each day. it is one of her best for a number of reasons... come back to this post in a month and you will be surprised at what you've written, i bet.

happy listening!

just finished listening to the album and as much as i am a tori fan - it's a bit same old same old for me.....

i think repeated listening will either win me over or push it to the back of the collection.

is definitely growing on me Christian, don't worry! :)
Loving Secret Spell and Roosterspur Bridge...
and I'm with you Hazy... I really like Beekeeper too! Certainly a lot better than Venus or Scarlet's.... I don't even count SLG as it wasn't her music and only put out to shut Sony up over her contractual obligations...

haha i thought this thread was about the pussycat dolls seach for a new doll. God i love that show... for the hilarity of course. "The pussycat dolls are all for female empowerment" - britney. hilarious! Not to mention the choreographer is camper then a set of tents.

This album is one that grows on you. Like most of the albums I really enjoy, they need to breathe and work their way under your skin.

Standouts are definitely: Big Wheel, Bouncing Off Clouds, Beauty of Speed, Body and Soul, Code Red, Father's Son, Dragon, and my current favourite Dark Side of the Sun.

But my favourite changes all the time. :)

When I heard Big Wheel for the first time, I wasn't particularly impressed, but maybe I just wasn't open to it. I love the new album... and Big Wheel now. Some of my favourites include, Teenage Hustling, Secret Spell, Code Red, Body and Soul, Roosterspur Bridge, Girl Disappearing, You Can Bring Your Dog, Beauty of Speed, Almost Rosey, Smokey Joe, Dragon...K that's practically the whole album, but as I said, I love it! Can't wait for the live show!

so who's going to which show/s?

I'm doing Canberra (2nd Row), Newcastle (15th row), and both Sydney shows (20 row and 2nd row).

The set lists from the tour so far look great!! Same as last time, she's only repeating a few key songs each show... YAY!

I'm doing Adelaide & the first Sydney show...
I wish I could do more, but it's tough for an Adelaidean to get around. :P

She better do Meet & Greet this time - we missed out in Melbourne & Adelaide last year!!

I hope I get to see Santa. This video of Cruel is absolutely amazing. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=FxF64Wl74zg)

Perth show. Can't wait.

And a meet and greet would be nice. But I'm just happy to see the wonderful Ms. Amos in all her splendour. :)
