Interested to hear peoples' thoughts on those sites. I used to use them habitually a few years ago, but now have no profiles etc on any of them. Browse Pinkboard occasionally but haven't 'met' anyone off the net for a long time now....
My thoughts on them:
- people are looking for their version of 'perfection' either sexually or in a relationship. No such thing exists.
- one doesn't have access to that all important 'x factor' that occurs when one meets face to face. Online we have to rely on peoples' own subjective views of themselves. We don't get to interact face to face and form our own opinions and judgements.
- I agree with the wonderful sneakos who said somewhere in the forums that they often lead to a decease in self esteem due to far more misses than hits.
I suppose if you're looking to hook up with a local guy for a 'quicky' they might prove worthwile, but for anything else, nothing beats meeting someone face to face!
