My partner was considered overweight and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last January, they put him on medication and he said. I don't have to be this way and to date he has lost over 20 kilos. He has another 22 to go. He always ate healthily but his work saw him put on weight over the years, and because it was gradual he didn't worry at first but as the weight piled on his energy died.
He is now medication free and so bloody happy. Yeah I love him no matter, but I also want him to be around for many years. He told me once "You can blame the food, you can blame people for anything you wish...but at the end of the day, walk up to that desk and say it's my fault, and I can change." He is proving that and always has said that nothing is impossible. Just get off your bloody arse and change your life." The doctors said it would only get worse, he proved them wrong.
One day he'll put up a recent photo and you'll be blown away on how handsome he is. He doesn't think so

What I find weird, is that people seem to have a lot of consideration and time and understanding for drug addicts or alcoholics or people with an addiction to cigarettes but not for people with a food addiction. There are even wankers suggesting fat people should pay for their own health bills. :cool:
