All about your Newtown Queerspace...the sexist place on earth for queer men and women of change
Come meet your geighbours in NewQ, a place for GLBTQ wishing to engage, socialize with other beautiful souls. Newtown...artistic, creative, funky part of town with its own unique personality that you find nowhere else. We have one of the highest population of queer residents and also welcoming many visitors from all over Sydney suburbia and playground for the tasteful traveller.
We have now created a safespace, a fun space, a queer space! Located conveniently on 22 Enmore Rd a la opposite Oportos Restaurant. Only 2mins walk from Newtown Station.
Come meet your geighbours and have a coffee or tea on us.
Stay tuned for our very first Shaggy Barons Discussion Group. A social forum for mixed GLBTQ to express their opinions. These meetings will be held on Saturdays weekly 1-3pm as of 16th June, 2007.
We also have regular running workshops such as Stitch n' Bitch, QQQfilm nights.Other non-queer specific political workshops also run during the week: Atheist meetups, Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle,the Icarus Project meetings, Geek Night -for Twin Peaks fans, reading group and much more to come.
