the double-logout issue

can someone please explain why we have to logout twice?

for example, if you are logged into the site and view the forums, and then logout from there, when you return to the news page, the login persists. this happens vice-versa and is kinda annoying after a while.

i'm thinking there is some issue with cookies and the different versions used by content apps on the site ... ???

does anyone else have the same issue?

I think their forums use browser cookies differently to the rest of the site

If you wanted to be sure, you could delete your cookies manually

^^ yeh, i could do that, but i shouldn't have to....
there's about 10 cookies saved by firefox from this domain....

to have to delete these every time is a pain in the proverbial
PS: inthemix.com.au doesn't present this problem

hmmm... this doesn't happen with me. one thing you may want to try is resetting your password. that might get the two parts of the site back into sync. if that doesn't work, let us know.
