??? That i would like to be answered by anyone who may know....

A few weeks ago my partner and I attended Fluffy @ Family Nightclub in the Valley Brisbane.

The first part of our night was great however my partner and I were removed from the venue at approximately 11.30pm for kissing.

Now to explain and as weird as this may sound we were both fully clothed, i was standing however bending down to kiss my partner. There was NO tounges involved heck he didnt even have an arm around me.

We were aproched by a security guard of the venue who tapped me on the back - and unknowingly assumed that it was one of our friends - I put up my hand and said 1 sec bub. As I stood up the security guard glarred the light in my partners eyes, and said to us both come on....your out of here...

We were both not only shocked but confused...... Why the...What the did we do to be being removed from family.

The security officer told us he would tell us outside....

When we got outside we were advised that although Family nightclub was hosting Fluffy and this was a gay night - Family Nightclub is a STRAIGHT, venue and as such same sex couples are not permitted to Kiss ect ect within the venue.

We were booted out and they would not even allow one of us to go in and inform our friends.

We were booted out of FAMILY for KISSING.....

???????????? Mmm - gotta love it.....FAMILY NIGHTCLUB SUCKS ASS.....

what the??? no matter what club you were in - this is blatant discrimination! I also still wonder is 2 women kissing would be treated any differently. I was involved in a similar incident at Yu Bar in the cross and once it was brought to the attention of club management - we were welcomed back as guests the following weekend with a hefty bar tab. I'm sure no club management these days will tolerate this from security staff who are usually sub contractors. The legal costs of a law suit is something they prefer to avoid. Either way - at the end of the day - this sort of discrimination shouldn't occur anywhere anymore!

Especially one who advertisers much to the gay marketplace and promotes such a gay friendly environment - it is just rude......

Love the banner at the top of this site for the fluffy BRITNEY Party - FAMILY....YOU ARE NOT GAY FRIENDY... YOU ARE JUST RUDE....

I just noticed that Harry K - Family resident DJ / Manager, is a member to this site - maybe a responce from you would be lovely considering......

Hey fcukmy318i..

I've been looking after Fluffy for 6 years.. I would like to investigate your complaint and get to the bottom of it .. I can assure you that Fluffy is and always has been a gay friendly environment and I make that my number one priority being a gay male myself.. So to hear that you were taken out of the venue for this reason is of a concern to me.. Please contact me directly so I can get some more details from you and sort it out.. Email address is harry@thefamily.com.au..

Are you serious that happened!? Wow! Considering I've seen a LOT worse going on at the Family than kissing, that is unbelieavble! A lot of Brisbane Nightclub security guards are just wankers. i got kicked out of The Beat one night because a guard accused me of walking down the staff-only stairs... i was nowhere near them!

Hope you get things sorted out hey

I got kicked out of Family for headbanging to Voodoo People. It's the Prodigy for fuck's sake. I also got a stern word from a bouncer when i turned around and smacked some guy who was feeling my ass. Really don't like the security there at all, though the bar staff and general vibe of the place generally feels alright.
