Hey everyone,
Thank god for this site - finally found a site that get's past my work internet nanny hahahaha:D

How is everyone??? Hope things are cool with you, shame about the weather etc etc etc

So .......just (well 3 wks ago) arrive in Melbourne and god is it good to be back in a city after 4 months in Mildura:eek: (harvest work - 2nd yr visa!!!) Me and my fella are living over in St Kilda but have yet to have a proper night out in Melbourne, where are the best places to go? We're both varied in our tastes (I like to Dance - he doesnt)in music and we're both pretty normal guys who like just to chill out in a pub or go crazy in a club. I spent nearly 5 months in Sydney and looking forward to seeing how diff the scene down here is to up there. Also we're looking to meet friends so say hi, if ya can help:D :D

I love the differences between going out in Melb and Sydney. Growing up here in Sydney it's fun to go out in another town (which is exactly what Melbournites would say about going out in Sydney).

My fave Melb hangs: Love Machine on Sundays, Rawhides when they're on, Q+A on Thursdays (RIP almost), Midsumma when it's on in Jan/Feb, there are a heap more too. Roxy and Hoolahoop both sound great, but I'm yet to check them out yet.

Oh does anyone know what the deal is with the Prince Of Wales in St Kilda. Thats right at the end of my road and have heard it is either a gay pub or runs gay nights....any clues??

I did fall in love with Sydney as a place and a good night out, i kinda miss it but yeah i know what you mean that it's always good to get away from ya home town and venture out. I'm from Birmingham in the Uk and had many nights out in Manchester & liverpool and a few in london.

Just in that annoying stage at the moment where not sure what places are like adn the people that go there but am sure with some perserverance (and some alcohol!!) will manage to get that round issue.

Prince of Wales downstairs bar on a Monday night is GAY.. always packed, no dancing but some disco music.. whole lot of men squished into a tiny space having beers.. love it.. On sat nights there is a huge metro crowd that is v.gay friendly and a good mix.. but most of them are off their chops..

Ummmmm someone from Melb needs to help here. In Sydney they're called middys and schooners, with middys being the small ones. In Melbs they are just "pots". I think they are small, but.......Robbie?

They're about $1.80 pots now (sydney schooner size) , were called $1 pots back in the day..

Your choice to move to Melbourne, ha ha. Actually it's a bit cold here at the moment, but nowhere near as freezing as Mexico/Melbourne.

Melbourne really rocks, I really love that city.

After the recent long weekend here in syd, I'm taking things hell easy at the moment. I've even sworn off alcohol for one whole month. Tomorrow marks my one week anniversary of that and there are a lot of temptations at the moment!

Not sure yet, think mite have an easy one, feel like sleeping for a week so prob just take it easy and slow, save money so can have a big one next weekend, feel like goin on a big bender, haven't had one since got down here and feel like goin out and makin a tit of myself infront of people I've never met......hahahahaha
