GetUp! is doing a campaign on equality for same-sex couples after a Galaxy poll revealed 71% of Australians believe same-sex couples should have same rights as heterosexual de facto couples. The Poll was released in the lead up to the release of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission's final report into discrimination against same-sex couples and families. It found 58 pieces of federal legislation discriminated against same-sex couples in Medicare, superannuation, aged care, taxation, immigration, employment, social security, defence and family law.
