I was off work yesterday, was being lazy at home and loved every minute of it.
I have come into work today all refreshed and vibrant.
Isn't having a day off great sometimes.

I checked my emails and I've (finally!!!!) heard back from the Department of immigration: I'VE GOT MY 2ND WORKING HOLIDAY VISA!!!!!!!!:D

Have been waiting for 3 weeks to hear back from them and finally have, so now I get to stay in this blessed country for another 12 months!! Hurrah - Might not stay that long in total but at least the option is there!!!!!

Just thought I'd tell you as I'm very excited!!!!!!

Oh and to make this a proper forum - what is the best & worst excuse you've used when you've pulled a sickie????

Being a nurse/paramedic - we can't take sickies - we have to come in - be assessed by a doctor and let them make the decision. My favorite was my chihuahua was pregnant and about to give birth! The best part - he's a boy!!!

awesome Timmey, plenty of time to cause more havoc down under..

I once pulled a sickie from school with a mate when I was 16 and we hung out at my house. We popped down to a TimeZone and when we returned the police were waiting at my door. "OMG the school got the police involved?" Actually no, while we were away, a kid had broken into my house and had stolen some of my brothers goods but the coppers randomly caught this guy carrying the stuff home. It was just unfortunate they came by to see if anyone was home and I was. That said, i got in a heap of trouble from the folks.

The worst lie i've told was after i had met someone over the weekend and wanted another night to "get to know them" so i called my boss because i was all out of sick leave and said that i would need to have some "family leave" because my Aunty had had a stroke - ITS TERRIBLE I KNOW!!!! - It wasn't a complete lie - it was just a few months too late is all...

For the record i love my aunty!

I've always been way too scared to a pull a "someone from my family" has died as an excuse. What if they actually do? The guilt.
