What music is in your CD player / iPod / car at the moment?
Rufus Wainrights' Release The Stars is in my PC
Mika is in my car (love singing along)
and an old Hed Kandi is on my home stereo so I can dance around the room before I go out.

All I have is my ipod, and that changes every few minutes depends on the mood I'm in.
This morning it was The Avalanches, right now it's Zero Seven, nice and chilled out, might put something a bit bubbly on later

my flatmate tracked down this mp3 of chaka khan and rufus thomas singing "tell me something good" - it's so addictive. it's totally black, and 70s with all this warbling, porno guitar and heavy breathing.
love it.

Being a bit of a 'Amateur DJ' new tracks pass through my Laptop/IPod almost daily, I listen to more tracks on their own rather than albums.
At the moment tracks that 'cuttin up my rugs' and guaranteed to get any dance floor pumping (in my opinion) are ;
Black Sugar - Bobby Blanco & Miki Moto http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/179537-01.htm&highlight=Black%20Sugar
NYC Beat - Armand Van Helden

Camo, you look like you know a bit about music.. I need YOUR HELP.. I'm trying to hunt down the artist and name of a wicked track.. It's located on the Market Hotel's streaming mixes.. www.markethotel.com.au - Carmine's Set - 28 minute mark - goes something along the lines of "I don't want to spend my whole without you baby" - it rocks and the Market have been of no help! the vocalist sounds very familiar too! It's driving me crazy! Googling has not helped!

Some nice choices there Jackie. Goldfrapp only ever seem to get about a month or two off from my stereo before I learn to fall back in love with them again.

I'm all about Rufus Wainwright's new album "Release The Stars" still. More than anything else, I adore the feeling that comes when an album really grows on you.
You listen to it once, blah. Then a second time in the car, and one or two songs start growing on you, then you bring it into work and listen to it on the computer, and before you know it, you've fallen head over heels for the album and can't imagine a time when you weren't desperately in love with it. That's my relationship with Rufus.

you learn that a plane ticket to Sydney and a leather outfit are very expensive to coordinate

you lose your boyfriend to another
you learn that 3some's didn't bring us closer together
you scream at some Same Same members that treat this site like a pick up site
you learn that some people only have cock on the brain
you choke.......
you learn that your eyes are certainly bigger than your throat!

i am loving the alanis wisdom.
http://amysrobot.com/files/alanis.jpg
it reminded me of this:
The Alanis Lyrics Generator (http://www.brunching.com/alanislyrics.html)
It's a website that creates your own Alanis song based on a few words that you put in. Here's one I prepared earlier, using the words procrastination, cheeses, fingers, lies, buttons, cars, chickens, keats (my fave poet), trevor (a supposed former ex boyfriend) and black (my fave colour.)
here's an example of what you get:
"I Think"
I Think cheeses are really a huge problem
I Think lies are too much on my mind
I Think chickens have got a lot to do with why the world sucks
But what can you do?
Like a black rain, beating down on me
Like a Keats line, which won't let go of my brain
Like Trevor's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination
I Think cars are gonna drive us all crazy
And buttons make me feel like a child
I Think fingers will eventually be the downfall of civilization
But what can you do? I said what can you do?
Like a black rain, beating down on me
Like a Keats line, which won't let go of my brain
Like Trevor's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination
Like a black rain, beating down on me
Like Trevor's smile, cruel and cold
Like Keats's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination
Blame it on procrastination

I'm hoping she delivered the piano by c-section. Cause that would have hurt otherwise.
And live? Absolutely amazing! I saw her when she had the ensemble with her, and she just had the crowd eating out of her hand all night. Everyone was hooked. She was even better live with the new arrangements than on her cds. A must see.
