I visit the Chinatown grocery every week usually to pick up salty plums, chili oil, satay mix etc, but always stop off at the Japanese candy section to pick up something nice (Pockys, little chocolate mushroom head things etc).

This is indeed a dangeours discovery. I think my subconscious had obivously twigged to the availablilty of Pocky in one's local Chinatown emporia and was keeping me away for my own good.
