The minute a straight person says something that puts down gay people, everyone is only too willing to scream "HOMOPHOBIA!" It's a dirty word.
But gays don't have the same problem putting straight people down, like "Straights have taken over the gay areas" "I only go to gay clubs".
I wanna know why homophobia is so frowned upon but Heterophobia is a-ok for us gays to pass out?

To clarify what I trying to say - the gay community is pretty hostile towards straight people and noone ever has a problem with it. I don't understand why but?

maybe cos we only care when it's something that negatively impacts us hotstuff? When ppl see it as a good thing for the gay team, not many ppl would look at it from their perspective...
it is mentioned tho from time to time in the gay press... specially when girls and open toed shoes are concerned! that one never gets tired of being run in the fag rags...

I don't want straights on our street.
I don't want straights in our clubs.
They've got the rest of the city to hang out in, let's keep the gay places gay.

It all comes back to the Peel decision now doesn't it? Whether that was a step forward or ten steps backwards.

Well in some cases I don't want to be treated like a museum piece and in a way gay clubs protect us from the homophobia outside but I don't see any problem with straight people coming to clubs as long as they behave themselves and not treat us like shit.

I don't think most us gay guys have a problem with str8s in general but those who do, usually seem to for a reason eg. they may have had consistantly had probs with str8s growing up and later on. Sure, it may be a chip that they are not progressing on from as a (supposedly) mature adult and although not good, it is kind of understandable (as to how it became so. Not meaning it is "right").
As already mentioned, we have our own spaces and while our good str8 friends that know the rules are welcome, a lot of str8 people are there for us to put on the 'freak show'. En masse a lot of str8 free-for-allers in our clubs force many of the shyer guys into corners. It defeats the purpose of having gay or lesbian spaces.
As for himbos that just spout anti-str8 rhetoric all the time...well, just shut-up! Just shut-up! lol :p

Totally, it's all about moderation and respect. But we've got to respect the straight community if we expect that repsect back.

hmmm... i don't think wanting a couple of private spaces automatically means heterophobia - just like straights claiming some things for themselves isn't homophobia.
i think it all boils down to the fact that there are a lot of fucking dumb people on either side of the fence, people who can only see an inch in front of their face and have no concept of the issues.
some people need to zoom out and see the bigger picture but they don't have the capabilities - and it's too exhausting to point it out to people, so i am just sticking with my people and hanging out with the likeminded.
