it's so weird that the marriages are going to remain valid, yet the law won't allow any more to happen... talk about a contradiction! and confusing! it's interesting to see how easily people's rights can be taken from them.

I am gutted! I really hoped this would get through. Being married, and on holiday in California felt wondereful, it was reassuring to know that the state recogniosed my marriage. I guess it still does, but what about all the other people who cannot get married now? Gutted.

That's why the west coast is retarded. You can still marry on the east coast and in Canada Woot!

Equality for all!
How ridiculous that they passed Prop 8!?
Not everyone [gay straight or otherwise] believes in marriage but there are others who do and who should be able to marry if they want to.
What amazes me is that people believe in the "sanctity" of marriage yet, don't make it past 2 years!? And what about those that DO make it? Shouldn't all humans be allowed to experience everything other humans do?
What a shame... but we'll get there eventually!

Understandably, Melissa Ethridge isn't having it either (http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2008-11-06/you-can-forget-my-taxes/). Because she now feels like a second-class citizen, she feels as if she should now stop paying taxes.

It's sad that there are mechanisms to set back the hard work. Oh well, let's keep fighting, as we've done for years.

No law can ever invalidate love.
