Welcome along to the SameSame Summer Healing Retreat 2009.
This is going to be huge folks!!!

After the success of Shark Island I think we need to put on something slightly more small in scale and make use of what is shaping up to be a spectacular summer.

So What is the SameSAme Summer Healing Retreat all about????
After the stress of 2008 and indulgence of Xmas and New Years I thought it would be good to put together a trip to really unwind the senses and enjoy each other company over 2 nights at a stunning retreat I have been going to for 4 years now.

Maximum people - 30 / minimum 6
Cost - $80 per head (Included 2 nights accomodation)
Food, Alcohol etc - BYO
Animals Allowed :)
GLBT Friendly


Expect - A comfortable cottage with huge kitchen, showers, toilets, huge lounge and dining areas. Mud baths, Meditation, Firepit, Huge Barn for a party, lake, swimming pool, bbq, wildlife, outdoors, plenty of bedding, private rooms and a ton of sun, fun and laughter.

The place runs on solar energy, so don't expect your mod cons here. No hairdryers or TV's, toasters, kettles, but laptops, phone chargers are fine. The place runs on septic tank system and is so ecco friendly it's ridiculous. Last time I was there I witnessed Kangaroo's, goannas and various other lovely animals. You can even go yabbying if that takes your fancy.

We are currently seeking input for the date... these are the dates we currently have open to us.

Jan 30 - Feb 1st
Feb 13th - Feb 15th

Just curious, does the $80 include transportation to the retreat?

No unfortunately.... I guess this is where we are all going to have to work together as a community... The whole spirit of this event is to bring us all together at ground roots level...

Even thinking about the main meals being shared...
Say all our names in a hat.. and groups of 3 are chosen randomly to come up with a meal each for each meal ding the course of the day...

Stuff like dush washing roster etc... this is going to be quite an earthy event....

Carpooling I guess is the way... more details will unfold as numbers and a date is settled.. keep throwing questions tho... and ideas :)

The final night of the retreat will be a chance for everybody to let their hair down as we hold an "80's Blue Light Queer Disco" in the huge barn. This is going to be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a car. I can take 3-4 others as long as there isn't a tonne of baggage. If you've got a tonne of crap then I'll take two others.

And - if it's animal friendly then Butch and Emma will be sitting on someone's lap. Butch gets car sick. Just once on each road trip. So that's the price you pay for coming in Adi the Astra.

We have electricity... the place is fully solar powered... a blue light disco never had flashy lights like todays clubs... and thats how its going to be.. blue lights where i grew up were un spectacular...

there is electricity... we can play music... it may be thru a laptop and speakers but remember we are in the bush also...

anyways the owners rang today and are most excited... and the date is fully, double, tripple booked..

some of us have even thought about hiring a people mover... there are also trains that go very close to the area.. over the next few days.. we will work towards confirming numbers... then travelling arrangements...

exactly the idea cindi... thinking minimal but effective ie the way to go... we are afterall going to a retreat and back to more nature... another thing which is great around the property is their use of L.E.D lighting... you will see the place at night is beautiful...

I pack lightly! Even though I'm a fashionisteau! I've got it sorted. I don't mind dog's in the lap too! PICK ME!

I'll be collecting the money in the coming 2 weeks.. we all only need half now and the other half paid once at the venue... There are now over 40 people in this group and the venue only holds 30 so it is important those who wish to get make sure they are REALLY going and get moneys ready.
