Okay okay okay... so just how close are you to Kylie Minogue?
I've just found at that the father of the woman I sit next to at work played Kylie's grandfather in Neighbours... So, in two steps I get the princess of pop herself.
Does anyone else have any weird and wacky connections the fabulous and famous???

My cousin worked as a staffer for former Opposition Leader Andrew Peacock, who lived next door to the Minogue parents and she did meet Shirley Maclaine.

My grandmother lives in Tennessee, USA. Her hairdresser (Dodie) is Dolly Parton's sister-in-law.
So then I'm 3 degrees separated from Big Tits herself.
As Dolly once famously said, "It takes alot of money to look this cheap."

I once saw Dannii walking down Chapel Street. She is Kylie's sister you know?

I worked for Sanity Music in the 90's and met some fabulous artists. To name a few -
Pink - when her first single was released she did a quiet meet and greet tour. Sang a few songs at a Sanity employee gig at Prince of Wales. Got to meet her.
Boy Band 5 - another meet and greet tour when their first album came out. 2 didn't last long and returned to their hotel room, the other 3 came out drinking and the blonde one (who we all thought was gay) was pashing on with another Sanity employee. Lucky bitch.
Tania Doko from Bachelor Girl - I was at another Sanity gig at Crown Casino's Mercury Lounge for Meryl Bainbridge. (remember her?) I was quite tipsy and this little lady behind me couldn't see the stage. i cheekily asked if she wanted a boost onto my shoulders. She laughed. Later found out she was Tania from up and coming Bachelor Girl band. Went up and apologised to her and we've been quasi friends ever since.

I shook Dannii's hand @ HMV. I was gushing like a schoolkid. I'm sure she thought, no...knew I was just another nut. :(

My friend had her haircut sitting next to Miss Minogue, she said that Kylie is totally beautiful and had a "shiny star quality". My friend said that she was too shy to speak with her but sat quietly next to her for about an hour.
Actually, I think that is total class - if I meet someone really famous I hope I can be as cool as my friend.

Two friends of mine are good friends with Lauren, Kylie's cousin who's on a working holiday in London and occasionally hangs out with LaKylie.
Have met both Minogue sisters over the years..... but meeting them is like no.5 in the list of "Things a gay boy must do before he dies" isn't it?

I had a flatmate once who'd roomed with Chelsea Clinton at space camp in the US. So for a while I was only three degrees from Bill when he was the prez. And aside from my now infamous story of giving Gillian Anderson my room number at a hotel and hoping she'd visit that's bout it with my brush with fame. Hang on..did share a jet with James Morrison and band. Asked the singer sitting next to me who she was though so totally showed my lack of jazz knowledge since James was sitting a row in front.
Oh no..I remember more now...I had a private meeting with David Suzuki as a nerd at uni AND my GF revealed the other day she's had a private sitting with the Dalai Lama which I'd never know about...

Well I haven't met her yet unfortunatley but she has spotted me in the crowds at every Kylie concert there has ever been.
I'm an ex Sanity person too and met Micheal Gadinski. Told him I loved him just purely because of Kylie's signing. My ex has a friend who is dating his daughter Kate as well.

a friend of mine was at mardi gras the night kylie played - i think in 98. he was off his face, walked outside and saw her surrounded by a bunch of adoring queens. he said, "oh my god, you're not..." and she smiled and simply said, "yes i am."
he later saw her on the dancefloor at the beresford. HOW COOL IS THAT? i mean, i really admire that about kylie. she was so grassroots once. it's a shame she's royalty now.

DJ Seymour Butz toured with her two or three years ago, so anyone that knows Seymour is only one step away from the singing budgie.
As to weird and wacky connections to other famous people, Matthew McConaughey asked one of my sisters out when he was an exchange student here about 20 years ago (the stupid bitch knocked him back Lol, she thought he was dirty 'cause he used to spit all the time) and one of my other sisters & her hubbie's best friends was a groomsman at Arnold Schwarzenegger's wedding & Arnie was best man at his.

Don't look at me like that... her face is on my dart board.

danm82! HARSH!
Why is it harsh? Just because I don't conform to the stereotype of having the wailing budgie blaring from my stereo all day!
Good on her for getting where she has, it's to be applauded. I just don't go into hysterics at the sound of her name.
