I remember my mum made a big song and dance about going to Adelaide when were were younger....

my parents packed us up in the car and drove across N.S.W... i think we got like half-way-there and the muffler fell off the car...

then were when we were like a quarter of the way the exhaust just fell off one day....

then when we were about 2 hours away the car broke down completley.... and just wouldn't start..... so my parents just turned around and went back...

so i've never been to your fair city and don't wish to risk the life of a poor car as i feel fate is against me... :p

pinkyboisyd, maybe you should consider an aeroplane next time! haha. Adelaide is super cool LOL well I think so anyway. I will always call it my home city. It sure is the city of churches although not so religious I don't reckon! Yep still got the tram and they're actually building a tram line through the city so that should be cool. Lots of roadworks going on. The tram is so damn noisy though. Adelaide is great, I think everybody should come visit

What are the best things to do in Adelaide if you're there for a weekend only?

hmmm well I dunno if I've told you guys but I'm not from Adelaide itself. I am from a small country town but go to Adelaide at least twice a month for the weekend. It's definitely better if you know people there so you have somewhere to stay and so on... but the best things (for me) to do are shop around in Rundle Mall, go to Glenelg and also have a browse around there, and wait for the night to come. There are plenty of places to go in the city because there are a fair few nightclubs. Definitely not as happening as somewhere like Sydney and only one gay club which is The Mars Bar, which I think you either love or you hate. Glenelg also has a few nice clubs/pubs to relax and have a dance at. And if you're feeling like a kid you can go to The Beach House in Glenelg where you can just muck around on rides and stuff like that. Adelaide doesn't sound so fantastic in this description but I'm sure if you head to the Adelaide forum you will find out a bit more about our city :)

I think I have to go there in December to work with a dance company for 3 weeks. I'm kind of not looking forward to it, but hopefully my work will keep me busy when Im there.

They grow vineyards there don't they? I'm not a big fan of alochol but if the environment is plesant, I don't mind visitin a winery or two on the w/ends.
