Can you believe it... 1st December and only 24 days till Christmas. Where did the year go!
Now is it just me or have Christmas parties been scaled back this year? Normally around this time everyone is having one, seems all too quiet? Perhaps I have been a bad boy and im not getting invited to them this year
What are peoples thoughts on xmas parties? Big piss up? Time to try and pick up the curious office boy or girl? Or are we over them... *brad thinks not*!

I would have to agree. I think the extravagance of the past few years has caught up with everyone.
We're having a wicked Same Same / Sound Alliance one - breaking into small teams and heading off around Sydney Harbour on a treasure hunt against the other teams to win cool stuff. Followed, of course, by drinks...

Had my work's xmas party last night. Great theme this year too, "I wanna be a Rock Star". Everyone got into it and there were lots of great costumes.
Had two bars, and a cocktail bar, buffet, DJ, band with a Mick Jagger impersonator and a Tommy Lee impersonator! And a light up dance floor. As well as the Managing Partner being lowered from the ceiling to perform a Kiss number, it was hilarious!
Only beer and red wine left at the end of the night, seems everybody enjoyed themselves. ;-)

an organisation i used to work for had an 80's themed party this year, where every floor of the company (there are 6) was MADE to perform an 80's song for the rest of the group.
it sounded hideous, and i've been told it was even more INSANE (and i use that word literally) than last year's xmas party - which was circus themed. (nothing like seeing upper management running around tooting a horn and making balloon animals - just such utterly debasing behaviour. how do you respect them after that? you just can't.)
a highlight was apparently when an admin assistant (dressed as jason donovan) singing a duet with a project manager (dressed as kylie) - they sang "especially for you". by all accounts it brought the house down.
one can only hope they managed to scrape their dignity off of the floor before returning to work the following week.
