the other night this guy i'm seeing invited me over to his house for a spot of dinner, a movie, some wine - it was so lovely - there was candlelight, he'd cooked it himself - and honestly, he charmed the pants right off of me. (okay, so they were coming off anyway, lets call a spade a spade, but still...)

it made me realise how unromantic my life has been up until now.

so, it made me think - what's the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you? what's absolutely swept you off your feet?

... I hate lucky people like you ... I would love some romance in my life ... so the most romantic thing would probably be a compliment ... thats it ...

This sucks I have never been treated "romantically" unless if you count one of my ex's giving me a bath, which instead made me feel like a baby.

Romance, like chivalry, seems to be a dying art with some people.

I don't think romance has to be some big gesture or anything like that.
It's about someone special doing something for you, doesn't have to be big, could be as simple as buying a present unasked or pulling out a cake after dinner. Romance like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I once took a boy from the U.K. to see the Sunrise at Bondi Beach...

I laid down blankets and pillows and we cuddled and watched the sunrise... it was fun...

thats the most romantic thing i've done.... haven't recieved any of it back tho...

True romance is not about big sweeping gestures. It's not candles or flowers or any of that very in your face stuff. I think it's a lot more covert than that. It's the accumulation of those little things - those little considerations -- that you make for that someone special.

One gesture , no matter how grand or sweet, does not a romance make.

my friends are more romantic towards me then the men i've had in my life. one of my friends hides love letters in my house whenever he visits, and i stumble across them later. oh, so sweet.

another has burnt me countless cds of music that means the world to him - and it's been this really cool way for us to get to know each other on this whole new level...

actually, i am quite lucky now that i think about it.

One of the most romantic things I have done is to give someone a day as a present.

I couldn't be there for his birthday, so I made a book, with instructions of all the things to do for the day that I would be away. All the presents were wrapped up and numbered. It was all pretty silly stuff like a box of breakfast cereal, a magazine, some bath stuff. I had also booked a cab for an appointment at a day spa.

Your right, it is not about mushy stuff, but about making an effort and thinking about the other person, to ensure they feel special.

And - I got such a joy from doing it, and imagining their face when they opened each present. It was like writing a love letter that took a day to read.

Romance – Ha! The most romantic thing a blokes ever done for me was put the toilet seat lid down in the cubicle before I sat down to gob him

I honestly have had no luck in the romance dept. The worst thing was this bloke who asked me out for dinner and I agreed coz even though he was a bit of an odd bod he was a god to look at. Anyway we went to a restaurant of his choice and when the bill came he produced one of those fucking shopper docket things with a 2 for 1 meal deal on the back of it. I would of crawled under the table in embarrassment but the anger overtook me when he then expected me to still pay half the bill!!!! I was so tempted not to sleep with him that night but fuck it – he was hot and I’m a whore – but that was the last time I fucked him – well third last anyway:)
