First up, I have to admit that I wasn't a huge Dixie Chicks fan before going to see the new documentary "Shut Up and Sing". But by the end of it, my god, I'm think I'm love with those three women.

If you're looking for a good film to see over the next few weeks, in the words of Molly, do yourself a favour and please check out "Shut Up and Sing". It is probably the best documentary I've seen in the past few years - it's all about what happens behind the scenes when the bastions of country music, the Dixie Chicks, made an off-hand anti-Bush comment at one of the concerts and were subsequently boycotted, harassed, cancelled, picketed and even given death threats from some of their redneck, ignorant Bush loving, country music fans.

The film has the most amazing behind the scenes access to these three pretty brave women and shows how they go about trying to make music in the face of such adversity. Just brilliant.

It's on exlcusively at the Chauvel in Sydney at the moment, and other places around the country. It has a rating of 90% at Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/shut_up_and_sing/), and is such a great doco.

And that's my review of the day, anyone else seen it?

Not yet. But I'm planning on it. I was really shocked at what happened to the ladies as a result of voicing an opinion.
