Looking for new friends and social clubs...

Hello there,

I hope i am in the right forum. Anyway, I'm Robert and I have just moved here from Sydney. Is there anything you can tell me how i can find new friends and social clubs around Brisbane. I can't go to clubbing without friends. I need friends first before going to the clubbing.

Yeah, Brisbane is wonderful. There's no pressure to look your best at all times like there is here in Sydney. Brisbane is a quaint place to be, it feels like Picton if it had a mall and a river.

how long ago did you live in Brisbane Asherbella? its changed heaps, but slowed down since around 2004! well IMHO :)

I used to go clubbing alone... have met some great friends from being brave - as well as plenty of d*ckheads though.

On the social club front though... I've not come across any.

And don't listen to Asherbella. He is an ass-hat of extreme proportions.

Having recently made the transistion from the Gay Ghetto's of Sydney to the "quaintness" of Brisbane, I can with some authority say that Brisbane pubs/clubs are much friendlier than Sydney, so going out alone is not an issue! Would suggest heading to the Wickham and standing in the courtyard (a true novelty for sydney ex-pats), there is such a mix of people there, that if you don't approach someone to chat, you will be approached!
