Hey sexy samesamers,

Andy needs a new job =(

I don't mind where I am at the moment but I've just got the next 3 months after-hours rosters and they've got me working most of the weekends - totally taking advantage of my fine ass.

I know times are tough economic climate blah blah blah but was wondering before I rape seek.com if anyone out there knows of any jobs going in the IT Service industry (managing techs, etc) or works for one and wouldn't mind coming for smoke breaks with me please give us a shout.

I just need out. I work 3pm-11pm Mon-Fri at the moment, and weekend shifts are 8am-8pm. Can't do it anymore. I can handle having no life during the week but to take my weekends off me too it's driving me insane.

I started off volunteering for weekend shifts because each shift bagged me an extra $450 in my pay packet that week but then they wrote me a new employment contract (that I stupidly agreed to) where they can put me on weekends and I get a hefty pay rise. The pay rise is supposed to cover weekend shifts. So now I work weekends and I get no extra in my pay each week so I feel burned that I slogged it out trying to stay awake for 12 hours and having to catch up on sleep for the rest of the weekend and I get no extra $$$ that week. I've asked to opt out but they've changed the rosters and everything around me. Anyway now the weekends I have off are far and few between and I'm getting fat and depressed.

Please let me know if you can help - I'm a totally awesomo worker and am prepared to exchange favours for remuneration.

Thanks guys,
Andrew

aw im sorry your so miserable, i bet you'd be fun to work with too. :) Did you try letting them know that you actually want to leave and are looking? Because I've noticed that sometimes employers will give you what you want if you threaten them a little LOL. :D

Yes but it's very stupid to do that unless you have plan B up your sleeve for when they turn around and say that's fine see you later big shot

Omg be unemployed with me.

I've quit my job before for a friend so that she could come over with KFC and watch Oprah. She ended up getting a job before me which sucked. I had to get my own KFC.

Not a good time to be throwing the towel in, make sure you have other job lined up first. People still think its easy finding suitable employment but i believe its difficult and all the bullshit one must go threw to obtain the job.

Very few people hiring atm. I'd stick it out for the moment...not what I'd usually suggest, but as a hirer, I know.

thanks for the advice - i think i will for the time being. i need a steady income at the moment to kit out my new place anyway - when that's done i'll be more inclined to handle the stress of changin jobs...

3 months ago I quit a job in Perth to settle in Melbourne and did so dispite of the climate, but the choice might not have been so wise. Theres still heaps of jobs, but also heaps of competion for each one.

Maybe tell your Boss you feel stressed out. You might be able to workout some half days, or better......especialy if it is effecting your wellbeing.

Wish me luck in my on going quest for work

Good luck! It's pretty shitty out there this year. Swapping jobs is TOTALLY different to quitting one.

I love it. Congrats! I am slightly jelous. Everytime I ride past the sauna in East London I nearly crash watching the people go in and out.
