View Full Version : Beauty addictions, waxing and sterotypes...

Im curious as to everyones input on this, as, when i was standing at work the other day we were all having a convo on lesbians and gays. ( i work in a bakery now, so yea...hence the convo's can be on anything!) I mentioned that the chick who waxes me, went to mardi gra ( she is straight and so is her bf) and they all looked at me in shock and disbelieve cause i said i went to a salon and got waxed. They assumed cause i was a lesbian, and that i appear as the other thread said...Tom boy or soft butch....that i had this gigantic and enormous unkempt bush!!!!!!!! ( which drove me nuts no end for the day but anyway) i hate sterotypes like this...

So, i confess...im addicted to getting waxed.....i can't help it.....i love having no pubic hair ( just adding i dont mind other peoples...i just dont like my own) ....and that feeling after i have just been waxed ( legs and down there)....So, my question are.....

What sterotypes of lesbians/gays have breeders accused you of being?

Do you wax/shave down there? and if so, whats your preference on someone else? do you like them to have some pubic hair...or do you like no hair at all....

Are there any beauty treatments ( like waxing ect) that your addicted to that you just cannot do without?

The always and ever curious

I think everyone has the stereotype that lesbians in general are all "hippie" and dont believe in shaving. In my years of being with women, ive found that its really each to their own, exactly as it should be.

The only thing i am likely to be put off with in the throws of passion is someone who doesnt shower, or smells .. (EWW) i dont have a preference on how they 'garden' ... ahahaha.

You know what I hate about lesbian stereotypes? They all apply to me.... I must have a pet at all times, I drive an old truck and I own about four shirts that are not flannel. Most are velour, which is like methadone for flannel.

To be honest I don't really like it when women are completely hairless, it kind of seems unatural and pedophilic.

I still haven't found a hair removal system that doesn't tear my skin off (waxing) or fries me (creams and lotions)

I love my armpits hairless, dunno why, I like the soft skin left there I guess. I just want a system I'm not allergic to or leave me in serious pain (fragile skin)

Most blokes I've ever talked to expect that I never bother with any kind of "girls business". I don't know why I feel I need to, maybe I'm a sucker or maybe I just like the ritual.
I think it's that old idiocy that if you're a lesbian, you are more like a man than a woman. I can't tell you how many times my male friends have included me in "manly" activities because I was an "honourary boy" Even though i consider myself fairly feminine.

me neither! I've said it before - hair removal is like torture, if i wanted to torture someone i would bleach their body hair and then wax it off.

im totally against the current mainstream obsession that women must be completely hairless and i do find it quite weird......

but im 35 and 10 years ago i was accused of being straight for shaving my armpits, legs and 'gardening' even though the whole idea of having hair was supposed to be liberating, apparently we werent allowed to be liberated enough to remove it if we wanted.

having said that..im totally into being hair free whenever i can, i just like the heightened senses

what do i like on someone else? dont care..everyone is different and im totally with dash80 in that the turn off is lack of hygeine..not presence of hair.

I know the ones Gold Femme!
Thou shalt not wax, thou shalt not have long hair thou shalt NOT NOT NOT

Personally i rebel against all of it.......

I am the original waxing Nazi - arms, legs, vag, etc
My little obsession is eyebrows - they are a feat of manicuring
Also love a good fake tan (light tan not the extra black people go for),
Plus i never say no to a good facial and body peel exfoliation
Finally i am also a gym nazi - but thats just me

On others i prefer the less hair the better but not hugely fussed as long as its clean and not so covered in Tassie Bush that i have to put clips on it to get to the good bits

In my opinion the bit just above ur doodle hurts the most, followed by the bikini line. I think this is because the top ones are usually the thickest and 'well-anchored' lol, and ur thighs because the skin is sensitive. Funnily enough balls are the most painless part, and getting ur ring just just feel f*ckin sick hahaha

but of course all this depends on ur waxer too, type of wax and how sensitive ur skin is. although it didn't really hurt that much at the time, i'm had my balls skinned before, and that can take a couple days to stop stingin...

yes, but again I ask, how can this be achieved if you have freakishly fragile skin like me??????? If a bandaid can rip my skin off, just imagine...
Will a trim do it?

gold_femme
10th April 2009, 11:36 AM
yeh go for some trimming, u can get little 'lady' bikini clippers so it will be nice and even. i think you should definitely avoid waxing if your skin is fragile hon, its just not worth it.

I love the feeling of no hair its great, my first was the most painful but now that I've been having it done for so long it only take a few minutes and the pain is breif. It all depends of the waxer I think, they all do it differently and use different waxes.
If you try somewhere and its terrible that doesn't mean they will all be like that. Hunt around for somebody else.
I usually go for completely no hair, but my fella likes a little bit, says he likes to play with it. I'm like surely there are more important things down there to play with.
I use a razor for under my arms and for my legs.
I have extremely sensitive skin under my arms, I have been thinking about getting it lasered off. Having a hairy "garden" or legs doesn't bother me to much but I hate having my underarms hairy.
On other people I don't really mind, each to his/her own really. Although I do like hair on men, so long as his 'garden' is well kept and pruned regularly

I think it should always at least be 'looked after' a lot and sort of nicely trimmed.. Otherwise its just a bit wild and.. :O.. Personally I don't like any hair down there at all on myself.

Its a total 'appeal to nature' fallacy! "Just because something is more natural doesn't neccesarilly make it better" :p

I'm obsessed with beauty and style and everything being smooth, to the point where sometimes I wish I could just not care to save myself some time. lol

As a side note I hate how people think we all fit to the stereotype! I know its normal for lesbians to be a bit tom-boyish and thats okay but I have just never been anything short of an ordinary femme girl, and it's like people are so shocked when they find out i'm a lesbian or think i'm just going through a phase, when i've been with my girlfriend for about 4 years. It's so annoying!!! lol

Currently single so at least i don't have to worry about it for the moment... but ill have to get it sorted soon

Good luck Just dance :)
Ive tryed wax strips just dont pat them down hard the first go they are really sticky!!
They are able to be used for most of a leg and are great for "tidying".

Some times it would be easier if we had no hair but c'est la vie !

Haha Jules. Yeah I got taught something of the like (in school, not by mum. I didn't even get 'the talk' from her lol). But I think it's only truly important for people who don't wash themselves properly. Those are the ones who need it most in my opinion. If you're careful, it should be fine

If I had to live by gay stereotypes I probably would have given up and got me a wife by now.

I think the hair down their is one of the many genetic wonders of the ever evolving homosapien, comment thoughts are that it holds scent for our 'junk' region for attracting mates and that it is left over from our more simian days to keep our junk warm pre clothing.

Am I the only one here who shaves it rather than waxes?

But yeah, I prefer to be bald or just a landing strip and the same for my partner. I have never seen a hairy one actually. I don't know what I would do!

My eyebrows are blond and not real furry so I rarely get them waxed. Last time I did was over a year ago.

I am addicted to moisturiser and sunscreen. I love my pale complexion and do everything to ensure I don't look like Lindsay in a few years time.

Staria, I shave. I've never waxed and I'm wayyyy too scared to! Lol! My eyebrows are blonde too lol. Apart from an incident where they got shaved off, they've never been touched!

pho... I don't know what an epilator is so I guess not.... lol

pho3nixphir3
24th December 2009, 11:34 AM
you don't know an epilator? well, i only found out what they were last year. it's an electrical appliance that has a rotating head with clamp thingies that pull out your hairs.

http://g-images.amazon.com/images/G/02/uk-kitchen/philips/ice_cool.jpg

hope that illuminates, but different models are a little varied from that. it's supposed to be as effective as waxing.

i need to get my eyebrows done, i've only trimmed them the tiniest bit myself, but i want to get them prof shaped.

jojjie
24th December 2009, 06:02 PM
I bought an epilator last week, the most expensive one. Also has a shaver head attachment which is sooo ineffective, whereas the cheapie plastic razors from the supermarket are so easy to use. The epilator is so painful, but I guess if you're yanking hair out by the roots it's not going to be lovely. I did about a quarter of one calf then stopped, I was worn out by the pain.

I'm going to give it another crack in a couple of days when I have had a few painkillers. :S

pho3nixphir3
24th December 2009, 09:34 PM
ahahaha yeah. my friend has told me yes, it's painful, but you get used to it- just as you would with waxing i guess.

ahh, if you only knew how long i have waited for this. it makes a remarkably scary whirring noise when activated, but it really isn't that painful. it's like tiny pricks on your skin, but that's about it. it tickles a little in some places.
